“Great little hike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2013

We go to Woodstock at least once a year and these days usually stay at the Woodstock Inn. Standing in front of the Inn you see Mt. Tom directly in front. We climb Mt. Tom almost every year through old trees, snowshoeing in the years when that's required. It's about a 500 foot ascent, a pretty nice walk. We were especially interested in going up this year as it was my wife's first uphill hike since having her knee replaced in the fall. She did great. We even chose to come back in the roundabout hike by the lake a the top...the Pogue...and down the back way emerging on route 12 at the Billings Farm, another highlight of Woodstock. The whole hike was about four miles.

“Wonderful location..with a great view in a less touristic dominated location.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

So near the village and walkable with great signage, yet so few folks tend to walk into the National Park and up this hill, as it is really not a mountain. In winter you can snow shoe the trails, in height of the fall you would be amazed that when the village is so packed with visitors, here you will see hardly anyone.

“Amazing view worth the work”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

A steady uphill walk on a snowy road through beautiful woods was rewarded with gorgeous view of Woodstock. Plan to come back in season to view the mansion and see the seasons.

“Lovely area with great views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

This is one of the area's treasures. An easily accessible trail system with a variety of distances and difficulties. Some were designed as carriage trails and so don't have very steep inclines. Beautiful views across the village and down valleys. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing when there is snow. Dogs (on leash) and horses allowed when there is not. A really fine recreation area adjacent to an historic village.

“Good Hiking Spot”

Nice hike to top, not overly steep, good views. Would recommend for some decent exercise. Bring a lunch and have it at the top.
