“Tranquility at Tranquila”

Me, my sister, friends, friends of friends and some friends of those friends. Have to say I was a bit worried as to how I might cope with so many strangers all rendezvousing for a few nights at a single property! I needn’t have been at all concerned, Villa Tranquila was perfect with plenty of space to accommodate all comfortably around the dinner table or equally finding your own quiet space around the pool or the patio. Truly amazing views. Back to the evenings and the open plan living/dining area and kitchen area were so comfortable as we cooked, ate, drank and chatted into the early hours. We ventured out on a couple of occasions to enjoy local restaurants and provision shopping and it’s then you realise how vast the estate is on which the villa sits. Genuinely ‘away from it all’. Also of special note is the estate security which made us feel extremely safe and were so helpful in making sure taxis arrived and departed efficiently. A really lovely villa and a great venue for hosting get-together with family and friends.

“Opulence in the heart of the mountains”

The villa is situated amongst the green rolling hills on an elevation. It sits apart from its neighbours which really enables that sense of remoteness and calm despite only being a 20 minute drive to the nearest supermarkets, restaurants, ATM, petrol station and amenities. By no means is it overlooked like many of the other villas in the area that we passed on the drive to the property. With stunning panoramic views, set in nature, keep your eyes open for wildlife, deer particularly if your lucky, grazing in the forest sections surrounding the property and birds in abundance.

There is no light pollution here so for star gazers you will be in for a treat at night. The villa itself is light, bright and modern with plenty of space and privacy. A beautifully large open plan kitchen/diner enables for wonderful family time with multiple outside eating areas also. Boasting a fabulous downstairs cinema/entertainment room in the basement should the children need to keep occupied.
All modern amenities in situ with high spec with comprehensive instructions left by the owner in a manual to explain how to use the washing machine etc. All very easy to use to keep that laundry pile to a minumum!

For those like us who cant always sit by a pool 24/7 in the sun, there are a series of beautiful hiking trails from the villa. Or for those that are not so fit, there are car parks that you can drive too to reduce the length of trail to suit your needs.
For those more adventurous, there is an old 'Castillo' (castle) that you can see from the villa that can be climbed to boast incredible views of the area at elevation. It does require good walking shoes and some nerves as its a bit of a scramble to the final summit but we worth it. Be sure to pack some good trail runners and some water for this.
We had an amazing stay with our family and 2 children. It met all of our needs and enabled that escape and rest that we needed, whilst also enabling us to be active when we wanted too. Highly recommended and we shall be back without doubt! Many thanks to Michael (owner) who was excellent at communication, responsive and informative when we were booking the villa and making arrangements which made the whole process very easy.
The perfect hideaway in the Spanish hills. Many thanks!

“A lovely villa with everything you could want....”

Earlier reviews have not exaggerated the charm of this beautiful villa, its amenities and the hillside location which gives such a wonderful view across the wooded valley all the way to the sea. The booking process for us was straightforward and all necessary information was provided directly by Michael, including detailed directions on how to get to the villa, which I suggest you follow, instead of a satnav. Upon arrival we were greeted by Javier, who speaks excellent English. He showed us around and made sure everything was in order. Everything was spotless, with plenty of everything needed to make us feel immediately at home. All domestic appliances are in place, washing machine, dishwasher etc. A new American style fridge-freezer provided all the space necessary for food for our party of 8 people. The wine fridge took care of the bottles. If arriving on a Saturday, stock up at one of the local supermarkets as they close on Sundays. Comprehensive information about the villa and its locality is provided by Michael.
An unusual though very welcome feature is the cinema/media room, and there is also a Sonos music system which can play your own playlists.
The pool is a good size and very clean, lots of loungers. Garden front and back and a huge stone wall to one side with at least one bird's nest amongst the cracks. A prolific lemon tree outside the kitchen.
Security is provided by the 24-hour gates at the main entrance, plus automatic villa gates and an alarm system, all very effective and simple to use.
A lovely villa which provided a comfortable home during our two-week holiday - highly recommended. Thank you Michael.

“Best villa ever!”
Reviewed October 25, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We recently stayed at Michael's villa and I cannot recommend it enough. From the very start we were provided with a great recommendation of a local rental company that even after our delayed flight waited for us to arrive way passed midnight. From there on it was plain sailing, the villa itself is beautiful inside and out - the view from the master bedroom took my breath away. The local town of benahavis is close enough to walk to and the restaurants were top class.

When we didn't venture out, the villa's amenities were amazing and the cinema room was like nothing I've ever experienced.

Can't wait to go back next year and many thanks to Michael for all of your help!

Jack

“A wonderful holiday in a wonderful villa”
Reviewed October 23, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We stayed in Michael's villa in August this year, there were 12 of us and there was plenty of space for all of us and we could have quite easily squeezed in a couple of more!! I am usually fussy when it comes to sleeping on holiday but the bedrooms were very spacious with plenty of cupboard space and the beds were very comfortable with good working air con!! The views were beautiful and the villa was very peaceful. The facilities were fantastic, which meant we didn't venture out at all and ate in most nights! We had a slight issue with the entrance gate that was fixed and dealt with immediately by Javier and it was good to know that he was at hand, but we didn't need him at all.

This is a definite villa we will revisit and was a home from home, we couldn't have wanted for more. A delightful holiday and it ticked every box

“The Perfect Getaway”
Reviewed September 24, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Villa Tranquila is aptly named. Our stay was extremely relaxing. From the beautiful view down the valley, to the peace and quiet, it was everything we hoped it to be. The villa is very well equipped. The kitchen has everything you need with high quality fittings and much appreciated coffee machine. The cinema room was much used by our sons, with a good range of films provided. Everything in the villa was of a high standard. When not using the barbecue enjoying the views and garden, Benahavis was a 15 min drive away with its excellent restaurants. Michael was extremely helpful when booking, providing plenty of information on the villa, making the whole process very easy. When something is right, it should be appreciated and acknowledged, and Villa Tranquila is just that. It is a pleasure writing this review. Highly recommended.
