If you start from the "beach", you can swim 150m into the gorge without any difficulty. There is a nice jump, water dripping from above. The water temperature is pretty good. Very busy from 12 to 6pm.

My advice... do the two water jumps at the top, near Benahavis town. And leave it at that.

The river walk is treacherous in places and requires swimming with no means of holding in anywhere.

There’s a reason that the tour companies take helmets and abseilling gear.

That said, it’s doable. And scarey / exciting too.

Good luck!

What an absolute gem. Natural beauty all the way. It is free and very enjoyable. Our family do this at least once a year if not more. We take our friends and family and everyone who sees and experiencing this for the first time are overwhelmed. A must!

Pretty awsome place that are ont easy to find. But when you do, you don't want to leave.

Swim, jump and explore the challenge of the river!

Bring good shoes and waterproof holder for your phone!

On the road up from the coast to Benahavis you may notice lots of people in swimwear and this might be a bit of a surprise given that you are around 4 km from the coast. They are all heading to the Guadalmina river which runs through a valley at the side of the road. The scenery is spectacular and there are tons of small water pools and flat rocks to get a towel down. Some people take picnics there and spend the day, it is just like the beach but the water is much cooler and fresh. If you have a car there is ample parking but get there early if you want a space to park and a decent spot near the river.
