My husband and I stayed at this complex in September 2012 and had a fantastic time. We had some trouble finding it in the dark but once we arrive we were not dissapointed. Yes you do require a car but it allows you to visit all the local beaches ect. The jacuzzi on the roof is great so relaxing and the furnishings within the apartment are a real home from home, we have had numerous holidays all over the world and this apartment is rated amongst the best. It is our silver wedding this year and had planned to go somewhere special but my husband enjoyed our stay at Colina del paraiso he is trying to persuade me to return. If you dont mind driving you will love this complex.

Room Tip: Apartment with jacuzzi is well worth the extra

Stayed here in september last year and had the most relaxing holiday in a lovely townhouse with the best facilities we have had on a holiday in spain. The complex is spotless , the accommodation superb ,staff excellent. A car is essential for getting around and sightseeing and the on sight restaurant has good food at reasonable prices .There is plenty of room around the pools for sunbathing but as others have said the rooftop terrace in the townhouses along with the jacuzzi is ideal. The fixtures and fittings are excellent and we are looking forward to holidaying here again soon .

Very hard to fault this place. Most of the other reviews say it all. The quality of the accommodation is really excellent and the staff are welcoming and friendly. It was generally very peaceful even at the height of the season when we were there and although the pools were busy there was plenty of room for everyone.

We went as a family of 5 with our 2 teenagers and 10 yr old and all enjoyed themselves. It was great having a hot tub on the roof and the private roof terrace was wonderful for relaxing and sunbathing. The fridge up there was a nice touch too.

The journey from the airport was very easy with signs clear and obvious once you are off the main motorway. I am glad I used google street view before leaving the UK but don't think it would have been too hard to find. As most other reviewers say a car is a must but driving is easy and the roads are good with parking in towns well signed and secure, especially if using the sensible and plentiful underground car parks. Would recommend Estepona, Benhavis, Marbella and Puerto Banus but really didn't like Gibraltar - personally I wouldn't recommend that particular little piece of England - dirty, smelly, expensive, noisy, unfriendly and down at heel. The government of Gibraltar should be ashamed of themselves and would do well to take a leaf out of Spain's book in terms of being attractive to tourists and locals alike!

For me, this was really one of the best and most relaxing holidays we have had for some while. Fabulous weather in a great location with cracking accommodation of a very high standard. Would have no hesitation in recommending.

Thanks Colina Del Paraiso - we'll be back.

Colina del Paraiso is a small and pleasant complex, in a quiet setting, up in the hills between San Pedro de Alcantara and Estepona. It comprises a mix of apartments, townhouses and penthouses, all seemingly with 3-bedrooms and 3-bathrooms, many with seaviews towards Gibraltar & Morocco. The townhouses have a jacuzzi on the roof terrace and the penthouses have a plunge-pool, whilst both also have a handy fridge up-top too! The accommodation is modern and clean with well-equipped kitchens, including a microwave, fridge/freezer, dish-washer and washing-machine. Also, a large flat-screen TV in the living-room as well as a DVD player. There is a decent restaurant & bar on site but I would say car-hire is essential due to the location of the complex. The staff were friendly and helpful and kindly arranged a complimentary late check-out on the final day. There are several tennis courts and three pools and (this being the Costa del Sol!) you are close to many golf courses. There is plenty of car-parking outside the accommodation. All-in-all, a good place for a peaceful and relaxing vacation, close enough to the coast and the major towns.

Room Tip: Whilst all of the townhouses have good sea-views from the roof terrace, only the penthouses in block...

As stated in other reviews this complex is lovely. When we eventually arrived (rubbish google directions do not use!) at 1am after a 2 hour journey that should have been 45 mins, Stay on the A7 past Puerto Banus come off at the Lexus Garage/Mercado supermarket and go up the road following yellow and blue signs.
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and we were given our keys we couldnt believe the townhouse. Both kids had bedroom and bathroom each, ours a lovely room and large en-suite jacuzzi bath. Two terraces/balconies and roof terrace and hot tub! Brilliant. We really enjoyed. The complex was quite quiet (early october) which we liked - plenty of space round the pools The gardens and communal areas all immaculate. The restaurant was lovely, great staff and lovely food with beautiful views and sunsets. Yes it is a little out of it and a car is essential but there are plenty of restaurants on the shopping centres that line the a7 at the bottom of the hill. Can highly recommend the italian 'Santorini' just past the supermarket. As stated if i had to express one niggle it is that the roof terraces are in need of TLC with a paint job required, but i think that has been mentioned that they are been decorated this winter. We would definitely return !! Lovely

Room Tip: The blocks lower down (higher numbers) are nearer the larger pools but dont think it really matters

I can only agree with the review dated 24 September. Travelled here with my partner and my mother for 11 nights. Rooms well appointed, our town house had a jacuzzi bath and shower in the master bedroom and the other two rooms had two single beds in each and their own toilet and shower. The rooftop patio area with hot tub and fridge is a bonus in the townhouse. You do need a car here as has been mentioned before and the yellow signs make it easy to find once you have taken the exit by the Mercadona off the dual carriageway. I can't add much to the review dated 24 September except to say that there are now screens around each pool which are not in the site photos. I can only assume there is a safety issue about why they have done this as you need to open a small gate to access each swimming pool area. The screens seem to be made of a green mesh material. Noise was not an issue to us but maybe that was because we were out of the peak season so I can't comment otherwise. Lovely views over the bay. This was my first visit to the Costa del Sol since 1970 so obviously it had changed a lot (not for the better) as this coastline is now so overdeveloped. A trip up to Benahavis or Istan will remind you what Spain should be more like. If this accomodation could be moved to a less developed part of Spain it tould be even better! There is a nice beach at the bottom of the road but beware of jellyfish along this coastline. We did go to the beach at San Pedro but I was stung by jellyfish (the mauve stinger variety) and there were no warning signs so stick to the pool!
The staff at reception andin the restaurant are all very friendly and the food at the complex restaurant is of very good quality despite a limited menu.

Travelled with my wife, 2 children (ages 2 and 9 months) & the mother-in-law ("rolling my eyes!"). Was easy to find during daylight hours by following directions but could imagine it would be more difficult during darkness. Used the Toll Road (AP-7) to and from Malaga Airport at a cost of 7.15EUR each way. The resort is approx 2-3 minute drive from the main Autovia (A-7). At the junction with the main road there is a large Mercadonna supermarket which is excellent value for money (think its closed Sundays?). You could walk to and from it and it would take 10-12 minutes but the road is very steep. We booked 2 weeks prior to travelling at lastminute.com as they were the cheapest at the time. We paid £370 for the week. The lastminute.com website didn't stipulate which type of property you would receive, but having looked on the resorts own website all the properties (there are apartments, townhouses and penthouses) are 3 bedrooms, so we weren't really that bothered which we would get. Very little about the resort can be said apart from "Excellent". We arrived at 1200 and was told that the finishing touches were just being made and the Townhouse would be ready in 30 minutes max. Townhouse was excellent and in honesty looked like it had never been used. On the ground floor there was a small w/c, a good sized kitchen with spotless Siemens appliances (Oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer). There is a utility room with sink, washing machine, iron, etc) and a large lounge with dining area. The lounge has a 32" LG tv and dvd player which accepted UK dvd's. If utilising the tv remember to look for the button on tv remote which allows you to change the language (looks a bit like this I/II ). I came downstairs one night to find the mother-in-law watching Rocky in spanish! Was very tempted to let her continue but altered it so she could watch it in the original language it was recorded in, English. Also on the grond floor is a large terrace with dining area which faces south so get the sunshine well into the evening. The first floor has a master bedroom with 5ft bed and 2 twin bedrooms, all en-suite. The top floor is a large roof terrace with 6 sun loungers, dining table, hot tub and fridge. The fridge is a nice touch as it saves walking down 3 flights of stairs when you've got a thirst on. The resort has, tennis courts, 3 swimming pools, golf driving range, kids park and activity area and a great restaurant with fabulous staff and a stunning view. All the staff throughout were excellent and I couldn't find much fault with the resort and its facilities. At the time of writing this they have an offer on which is 2 weeks for the price of one. So 2 weeks in a Townhouse costs 450EUR (£375.00). On the last night we went to the restaurant and got involved with the Argentinian Tango night. Awesome! Tango dancers and an Argentinian Barbeque with starter, salad, fries & unlimited steak from the bbq was EUR20 per person. Excellent value! If your interested a taxi back from the Port (Banus) was EUR18 and that was a 3am and included a tip. Have seen others mention that its a hassle to get new wifi codes every day. This is no hassle. Reception give them out FREE! many other hotels the world over will charge £15GBP per day. Also seen others mention about noise issues due to thin walls. This didn't effect us either and we had neighbours both sides during out stay (hmmm... maybe we could have been the noise?!?). Already looking to go back next autumn. I've been fortunate to stay in some of the worlds best accomodation (Royal suites on RCCL/Celebrity Cruises, Penninsular NYC, suites in Vegas, etc and would not hesitate to recommend this place to others.
