We arrived in glorious sunshine and that's the way it stayed. Beautiful countryside and views, only gently interrupted by the tinkling of bells from the local goat herd as they were moved up and down the hillside. Our hosts Ali and Caroline are delightful. They make you feel very welcome and shared not only their local knowledge but their lovely home. The accommodation was really comfortable, clean and cool (needed to be for the 36 deg temp!) and spacious. As for the food.....outstanding! Local dishes cooked to perfection and every meal assaulted your taste buds and your stomach so that we didn't want to eat anywhere else. We will be returning....

Room Tip: Standard rooms are spacious, quiet and comfortable with air conditioning.

If you want peace, tranquility, a pleasantly hot climate, lovely countryside surroundings away from the usual bustling tourist places, this is the place to come! Ali and Caroline were the perfect hosts and made us feel extremely welcome. We enjoyed lovely home cooked dinners in the evening with Ali and Caroline creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A great place to use as a base for exploring Andalucia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. To be highly recommended.

After six weeks of appalling weather in the UK, we were in need of some sunshine and booked a last minute flight to Malaga. We were very fortunate to get a late booking at Cortijo Valverde (spotted via the reviews on Tripadvisor!) and it was perfect. A fabulous location, incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts, a lovely room, and absolutely excellent food. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, including the sociable dining - our first evening was spent with 6 other guests sitting round the communal table outdoors, enjoying Caroline's amazing cooking, and watching the sun go down - perfect! Thanks to Caroline and Ali for a warm (and sunny!) welcome.

Cortijo Valverde is ideally located for a peaceful holiday in a tranquil place with excellent cuisine or as a centre for touring Andalucía. Caroline and Ali create an atmosphere that manages to combine the services of a First class hotel (cuisine etc) with the warmth of a family home.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are equally nice though I would have a slight preference for a corner.
