Rasnov castle is far more interesting. Bran castle was renovated by the german kings and queens, and it looks like a disneyland Castle. Not real.

We spent an hour going round the castle. We had meant to go the afternoon before but it shuts at 4pm outside summer opening hours. You do not really need anymore than an hour or two. Its actually a very cosy castle inside and you can wander around on your own. It was around 10 Euros for the 2 of us. Not as touristy as we expected. Few stalls at the gates but more interested in selling cheese (to be recommended) or wine than Vampire stuff.

Not the original Dracula castle. The gardens have been more interesting as the castle.

This is the castle that is on most of the Romanian postcards. Apparently, Vlad Tepes never lived there, but is a fantastic building with a royal history behind. A must to visit while in Romania!
