Summarizing it in one word: excellent !!!
We have been to Jo's and ioana guesthouse on June 09. All my family came, 12 of them, from the age of 8 month to 73 years old, they all where happy. Jo even bought for our 3 babies 3 new cribs. The Breakfasts where tasty and the table was beautifully arranged. Jo was always there, either for assistants in the house or suggesting us where to go. The house inspires warmth and calm on the guest and so is jo and ioana. The room and the bathroom was always tidy and clean. And that goes to all the rooms we where staying in the house.
As i said before, this is the only place to stay in the area. And I'm sure that we will come back!

We are coming in Bran for more than 10 years. We realy like the area , we allways find something beautiful to see, some nice things to do. But ,we never been so pleased like we were last time ,a few days ago...for Valentine's day , when we dicovered Guesthouse Villa Jo . We were fortunate to stay there and meet the host family . John and Ioana , a charming English - Romanian couple . They realy done the best for us to have a wonderful stay. The guest house is a new building , you can see quality , everywere you look and an interesting rustick - elegant style . The rooms are very nice ,with bathrooms , and spatious . There is a fully equipped kitchen were you can find all you need , and if you don't , John or Ioana will bring it imediatly . I think is the cleanest guest house I' ve seen . There is a large living room, were you can stay and ....watch TV , or play something ....or just stay and look at the fire-place and listen music . You can see the greatest atraction of the small town , the Bran Castle , or Dracula's Castle how the legend sayes , directly from the terasa , and from the balcony from the guest house . It' s a realy a special place with realy special people and we hope we'll go there soon .

This holiday we went hiking trough the mountains in Romania. When and for one week we where walking from cabana to cabana (mountain huts). The last day we had a very long hike of 25km and in the end we walked into the city of Bran. Since we didn't booked anything up front we opened our guide and found this place. It's run by this lovely Romanian-English couple who will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The guest house is been build very recently and all the rooms got there own style. Downstairs is a big living room and a breakfast area. Also a fully equipped kitchen is there for your use. We had a great time staying here and if you like walking there are many well marked trails in the area. Of course you can also visit "Dracula's" castle which you can see from the balcony in the guesthouse.

Villa Jo is an absolute treasure in Bran! Just down the street from the entrance to what is billed as Dracula's Castle, the Villa Jo is a wonderful, brand new guesthouse, well hosted by a British guy and his Romanian wife, who live in a separate house on the property.

We were very fortunate, as we were the first guests to stay in our room (a very large queen room) and we had the entire house to ourselves. They have 7 rooms total, each with its own bathroom, some with queens, some with 2 twins that easily connect to form a queen. There is also a full kitchen, dining area, and comfortable living room with fireplace. The balcony off the second floor gives a great view of the castle, and there is a lovely porch area as well. The house includes lots of great personal touches that make it feel very comfortable and inviting.

The nightly rate (much less than we paid anywhere else in Romania!) included a traditional Romanian breakfast, served at the time you request. They will also vary the breakfast if you stay multiple days. For an additional fee, they will provide a home-made, traditional Romanian dinner that was far better than any dish we had gotten at any restaurant.

The host family, John, and his lovely wife Ioana, went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. John, who is a well-traveled tour guide, graciously helped us plan out each of our days. We even hired him (at a steal!) to give us a personal tour one of the days. He took us to offbeat, non-touristy villages and churches that you would probably never find on your own or with a tour group. It was clear that entertaining tourists is what John was born to do!

We intended to stay in Bran for one night, on our way to Sibiu and/or the Black Sea coast. But we fell in love with Villa Jo's, and the surrounding area that each night we decided to stay there and make very easy day trips to Brasov, Sibiu, and other areas. There is a wonderful, and easy hike along a snow melt stream near Villa Jo's that turned out to be one of my favorite adventures in Romania.

I can't speak highly enough of John, Ioanna, and Villa Jo's! A great deal, and a great experience!
