“Would definately stay again!”
Reviewed July 1, 2010

For a 3 star self catering apart hotel I thought the Sunseeker was fantastic value.

Good points

Really friendly staff!
24 hour reception - leave your keys when you go out (good for me i always lose keys)
Good location - not right on the front but only one street behind
Pool area - never over busy and child friendly
mini market
indoor pool, gym and jacuzzi
Room size was really good - 4 of us were fine in a 1 bed apt. lovely big balcony
on site launderette

Not so good points:

Rooms arent cleaned often enough - once a week towel and bedding changed. You could pay to have it done more often but I think thats a bit mean!
view from balcony wasnt great and the light is on a timer that goes out at 11 but would have liked to have sat out later
you had to pay to watch a very dated TV.

This was a budget holiday and for what I paid I am more than happy. The kids absolutely loved it and I would definately stay there again!

If you plan to vist Malta, then stay clear of the Sunseeker!
After arriving at 02.00am we were shown to our room in the basement by the night porter, after about 6 attempts to open the door with the dodgey lock we were greeted with the drab interior of the appartment, gloomy lighting and yellow walls. The beds are made of plywood complete with hard mattresses (you would have a better nights sleep on a park bench) The kitchen appliances are out dated, If you wish to watch the 12 inch portable tv thats secured to the wall it will cost you 2.50 euros per day!
The off white bed sheets were not changed the whole week that we stayed there, you can expect the off white grubby towels to be changed once a week (use at your own risk)
The shower is another experience! the floor of the shower is coated with soap scum and hasen't been cleaned for years, the old fashoned shower curtain doe's not fit
The views from our room was one of a brick wall 12 foot from the door.
But please don't be put off visiting Malta, the island is a wonderfull experience, just don't stay at the Sunseeker untill it undergoes a major refurbishment

We arrived at about 3 in the morning and were greeted warmly and shown to our room and told about the breakfast that was available. There was a welcome pack in the room with enough to get you going and was much appreciated. Mini Mart was very handy during the week.

Room was OK size for a studio, kitchen had everything we needed (although we did nip out to get a couple of decent size mugs for tea in the week) and nothing was too much trouble for the guys at the complex - we even had a surprise visit from the maintenance man as the cleaner had trouble flushing the toilet and had got him to check it out!

We were there for 8 days, room was cleaned twice in that time, bins emptied and towels changed, everything neat and tidy and will be top of the list for our next trip to Malta!

We have stayed at Sunseekers twice and we are going back again Nov 10.

The first time we stayed there we fell in love with the place, you please yourself what time you get up what time you eat and you don't have to put up the rude English old people who can't say please and thank you like you get in the hotels, which is why we went to the Sunseekers.

Staff are so helpful and they can't do enough for you to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are cleaned and towels are changed twice a week. We found it helpful that the mini markrt has books for 1euro and then when you take it back you get 50cents back.
This save you having to take a load of books with you to read.

We fond the supermarket round the corner cheap and agian very helpful staff, in fact all the people we have meet in Malta that live there have been very friendly.

Its our dream to live out there one day but until that happens we will be staying at the Sunseekers.

Booked Sunseekers directly, finding it far cheaper to do so. Owners very helpful. Location excellent for town, beach & bus station. If they had air conditioning it would have made a big difference as it was incredibly hot, but the fans worked - albeit noisily. The apartment was a good size for the price. Our kids (aged 8 & 5) had a great time, & the rooftop pool was great for cooling off.
Would recommend booking the day trip to Sicily. It is expensive, but how often do you get the opportunity to go up a volcano!
Buses were cheap - there is no need to hire a car - & they go pretty much everywhere.
Bugibba is a good centre to stay in - lots of restaurants & the sea.
