“Perfect venue for dining night out.”
Reviewed August 3, 2010

Bugibba/Qawra locations in Malta are inundated with fast foods, pizzerias and restaurants designed mainly for budget tourists – yet in the middle of all this a corner restaurant differs from the rest. Venus Restaurant provides a simple yet elegant ambience that caters for approximately 30 covers seated indoors (air-condition) and further 16 covers outdoors. The interiors, with light chocolate walls and a few heavy white framed mirrors, make the restaurant look chic and welcoming. Staff members (mainly non-locals) are very professional and try their best to assist you in explaining what is on the menu and choice of wines (ample variety to choose from). My partner and I opted for the 3-course menu (priced at €20), and a bottle of still water (local 750ml at €3.40). To be sincere we were not expecting much but to our surprise the menu presented had potential. We opted for risotto as starter, main course we had chicken filled with ricotta cheese, covered in melted mozzarella cheese and adorned with thin slices of sun-dried tomatoes; all tasted succulent and all was freshly cooked. A side dish of tasty baked wedges and ‘al dente’ vegetables was also given. For dessert we had vanilla ice-cream (2 scoops) and lemon sorbet (2 scoops); both were definitely homemade specialities. What is my personal opinion of Venus Restaurant? Well in few months time I will be graduating in my masters degree and am seriously considering organising my graduation dinner for my family and friends over there.

“Definitely worth a visit”
Reviewed July 11, 2010

We had read about Venus on here but just stumbled across it. The welcome in was lovely and we were given bread and some kind of pate with olives and mini cheese and crackers. The food was lovely although we expected the rabbit to be some kind of stew or at least chunks but it wasn't. It came on the bone but was really tasty. I asked for my steak to be medium but it was definitely under done. Never had a rare steak o not sure if it was classed as rare but I struggled to cut it it was so raw. A shame really but maybe their medium is our rare. You don't get any bread with the soup so if you've eaten what was given initially you can ask for more when your starter comes. I don't think we were charged. We asked for warm brandy and it came with ice! We sent it back but they just served it at room temperature rather than warming it but Malta just doesn't do whisky or brandy. Venus is very modern and nicely set out. It's definitely worth a visit but I wouldn't go back.

“This is one not to miss”
Reviewed July 7, 2010

During a week's stay in Malta we dined three times at the Venus. On each occasion we ate something different and were never disappointed. Fabulous quality of ingredients, superbly cooked and all served with style. We tried other nearby restaurants but kept returning to Venus. The varied set menu that provides three courses for €20 represented true value for money. Please don't leave this experience to your last night because you will regret not having the opportunity to go back for more. Absolutely outstanding.

“Excellent food - best meal ever on Malta”
Reviewed June 12, 2010

Unpretentious, friendly restaurant. The menu has choices that would suit most tastes.
The service was very good and as for the food " fanatastic".
Lovely fillet steak with choice of sauces, pork medallions with mustard mash and onion jus, moroccan chicken , and fish ,freshly caught to name but a few.
Its only a couple of streets back from the sea front ,and was our most expensive meal of the holiday, but worth every penny.
