We were 12 lads on a weekend jolly, who stumbled upon this little family run cafe/bar for breakfast. The welcome was superb, so friendly and genuine. Yana and her Mum, Paulina made us feel welcome and couldn't do enough for us all. The full English breakfast was good quality, good portions (fried bread & toast, never ending) Tea/coffee/Orange juice kept flowing and all served with a smile. In fact we enjoyed it so much we returned for the saturday night and had our evening meal their (plus each morning for brekkie). The menu has enough choice and to be honest, my first thought was, they had overstretched themselves with the amount of menu options, ranging from cobs, toasties, pizza's, pasta's, grills and more and the quality would suffer. How wrong I was. We ordered a mixture of dishes ranging from traditional Maltese Rabbit, Pepperoni Pizza & Steak etc. and all was good and very reasonably priced. A great place to visit, good food, fun atmosphere in the evenings although a nice place just to sit and enjoy a coffee or alcoholic beverage. A good option to support a small family run business that does it simply, but well and always with a smile. Thank you to Yana, Paulina & the rest of the staff for looking after us and making us feel so welcome.
All the very best for the future from Simon, Dicko, Connor, Baz, John, Mike 'Sinatra', Carl, Phil, Chris, Mike, Pete & Bob. xxx
p.s. Dicko send's his love to "his Wife" Yana......lol.

Chaplin's is one of those places that you like immediately. We've only been here in daytime, so I can't comment on the evening meals except that the menu looks good. We often come here as the stopping place on our morning stroll. The location is good, being just off the Qawra front, but views of the sea are interupted by the car park, and building work. If you can look past these, the views are good. There's nothing to get excited by the interior either, it's just an ordinary, but comfortable enough bar that does food. There are plenty of tables for a midday coffee and a snack ( or try the Maltese platter at 8 Euros) Service is really good, and prices are very reasonable as well. However, one comment from one of our party that there's too much foam / froth on the lattes , but they staff always gave her more milk with a smile. The free wifi also gives the chance to check on EMail , Facebook etc Overall, as my review starts, I like Chaplins, and I look froward to going back. ,

We used this restaurant when we first arrived and just had a pasta meal which was lovely. We noticed how lovely the menu was so went back for an evening meal on Sunday Evening. The owner was a character and he explained each dish to us with a laugh and a joke, and when his daughter served us it was obvious it was a family run business and she did the cooking. Everything was prepared from fresh and excellently presented. The deserts were to die for!!!
