It maybe was a 4 star hotel 45 years ago. Now hardly reaches 2! It's by far the worse hotel I've ever been to. The room was quite large but really poor. When trying to sleep we could clearly hear what people down 4 floors on the pool area were saying. Not to mention when noisy kids were around. A nightmare. The breakfast area, well what to say. One comment is sufficient: it was the first time I saw washed plastic cups to serve the juices!! Tea cups were almost all broken and glued with all different types of plates! Food really bad. It's certainly not expensive but for the quality it gives it's even too much!!
There are 3 pools, one underground warm but not at all with clear water. Another very small in the basement in between the buildings, really slim and shady. And a nice one on the roof. This was the best part of this hotel.
I stop here even though there were other terrible things to say about how clean the hotel was, but I spare you that part. I guess this is enough.

Just returned from another stay in the Soreda, sorry to say it will be our last visit. During our stay the hotel was 75% occupied by groups of students from France, Belgium and Greece as well as school parties from the UK. Although some of these groups respected that other people were on holiday, most did not and treated other residents with contempt.
If you happened to be in the restaurant when some of these parties arrived it resembled a bun fight. Older residents were pushed and jostled and even had serving implements snatched from their hands whilst trying to pick up their food. They created a lot of noise at night time, shouting, screaming and banging on other residents doors.
I spoke to the manager about these problems and his reply was "they are paying to stay here just like you."
Great pity that the Soreda has moved in this direction as we have always enjoyed staying there and have found the staff to be amongst the friendliest and helpful in any hotel we have ever stayed in.

Having booked our visit to the Soreda a few months in advance and then read some rather troubling reviews like 'hotel pneumonia' and the like I was a little worried, but needn't have been. Me and my girlfriend who are both 30 and stayed here on an all inclusive basis. We were, for half of our stay were very much the youngest visitors which made the overall feel of the hotel one of good behaviour and not up all hours with music blazing. By mid week we were joined by 40+ students which from their colourful clothes, moodiness and total disregard for queuing realised they must've been French. We had room 341 which was at the back of the hotel, the room was spacious and had a mini fridge. The food at the Soreda was very good for choice and quality. My girlfriend is very fussy with food but at every meal time she found something to eat. The drinks were standard as you'd expect, Carlsberg on tap and you could also have a choice of alcoholic fizzy pop in tins to take and drink at your pleasure. The spirit measures in drinks were very generous in their alcohol content, wallop. The wifi in the hotel was patchy at best but didn't bother me as it's nice to get away from monotony of social media etc The only parts of the hotel that aren't 4* are the roof terrace and ground floor pool. The games room is the worse part of the hotel but it's not the end of the world. The staff are very helpful and on the whole happy and engaging. On the whole I'd say it's a 3 1/2* hotel but as there's no half star it's fair to say it's more 4* than 3*. I'd recommend going into Valletta as it's very pretty and If your hiring a car or going on the bus then leave your road rage head at home, they don't love using indicators and tend to leave very little gap in traffic and roundabout manoeuvres. At the time of year we went which was last week of March Malta was fairly quiet so don't expect wall to wall party friends everywhere! Enjoy the hotel Soreda, it's pretty good really.

We paid for 14 nights bed and breakfast at this hotel, but when we arrived the hotel was full and we were sent across the road to an apartment, the porter that took us did not even know where it was!!!! It was 2nd class accommodation and we paid for 4 star.

We cannot rate this hotel as we never stayed in it.

We visited each morning for breakfast only and did not feel part of this hotel at all.

The apartment was in a block with mostly ex patriots and rough round the edges but was kept clean for us.

The shower was not very powerfull.

We were disappointed to say the least.

Room Tip: Do not go to the apartment!!!!!

We have just had our 2nd visit to this hotel, for a lovely weeks holiday at the Soreda, large clean rooms, very friendly staff. We stayed on a B& B basis. Very good breakfast, lots of hot and cold choices of food. The hotel has 3 pools, 2 jacuzzi, tv room and piano lounge. The hotel is in a quiet residential area, no noise after 11pm. This hotel is a 10 min walk to main bus terminal, €1.50 for a full day pass to anywhere in the Island. Buggibba and St Paul's in within walking distance, would definately stay again

I had used this hotel some three years ago and all was good but this year I book from 28th March to 11th April .I was booked in by the staff and given room 206 . The room was very clean and now had new TV with a lot of news and films in English .The location is good as it's 10min walk to the bus station.where you can get a weeks bus travel for 6.5 euros. The food is very good for the price you paid .i found a pub around the side street (The Bell) run by English people that does very good food . A full English BF is only 2.5euros. Now for the negative side of things. I came as I said because I had used the hotel before with no problems. But this time the hotel had a very large amount of school children from England and France . There was no control over them and the noise and banging of doors at all hours every night stopped you getting a good nights sleep. I had to complain to the reception on more than three times to try and get the noise stopped .many complaints were made to the rep of the booking agent.in fact one person that had been using this hotel for over eight years had asked to be removed to a new hotel because of noise at night by the school children .I went to Malta to have a nice holiday but it turned out to be the worst holiday I have ever had. I told the management that they would loose customers loyal to the hotel as a good name gets around fast blue a bad one gets around faster. So if you want a relaxing holiday give this a miss.

Great hotel. food was fantastic something different every night. Service brilliant. Lovely rooms.Nothing to do with the hotel but got completely ripped off by Cartrawler which we booked and paid for through Lowcost holidays. The company tried to surcharge us so much more on collecting the car that it was cheaper to hire from scratch from another company. Shame on Avis. Car Trawler and Lowcost holidays for this. All the money paid in advance for car hire was wasted.
