“Worth the wait ”
Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

Me and my partner thought we would try this as we have looked at the reviews and tried the flora a few metres up the road and 2 other oriental based cuisine in the area .I must point the flora does sushi and thai and the peking is strictly Chinese .
The decor was good and the toilets impecable this means alot to myself .the chefs and cooks are Chinese the owners are maltese and lovely people.
I doubt its the cheapest in the area but 9/10 times you get what you pay for and instead of the set menu on offer we chose indervidually .I always expect to wait between courses so I know it prepared to a high standard and those who complain due to waiting do irritate me .lets go
Seafood soup €3.80 Very tasty with squid octapus and other fish .I did enjoy this 4/5
Hot and sour soup £3.20 could have had more shrimp but tasty none the less 3.5/5
Bbq spare ribs .€5.90 best ive had in malta and the sauce was amazing 4.5/5
They did me a seafood mixed meal which wasnt on the menu in a spicier sauce (thankyou)
Mixed seafood €10.50 excellent 4 5/5
Beef with black pepper €7.50 v.good 4.5/5
Pork with garlic (my partners choice )€7.50 not bad 3.5 /5
Singapore noodles €4.80 more meat please but tasty 4/5
Special rice €4.60 4/5
Drinks 7 x half pints of soft drinks @€1.60 Each
Total €59 00
In my opinion very clean great food friendly service at a good price
Regards si

“Just OK-like a UK Chinese Takeaway”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

Went for my birthday. The food was edible but nothing special. I think a lot of MSG is used in the sauces as I am intolerant of MSG and had palpitations all night. The special fried rice was very strange-brown and gluggy. The place was clean and service OK but, due to the poor standard of food I would not go again or recommend this restaurant.

“Hoped for More based on Previous Reviews”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

I have eaten chinese in a number of countries and places from basic chinese eating houses to top end London Chinatown Venues. We set out with high hopes based on the reviews this venue had but I am afraid although the meal was edible it was disappointing with MSG lurking in the dishes the Special Fried rice was a particular disappointment somewhat brown and mushy.
I am afraid it reminded me of the worst of Take Away Chinese Cuisine in the UK.

Service was good and attendive and the venue is clealy popular - we had eaten at the Xi XI in gozo the weekend before and there is a marked difference between the quality of of the two venues wtih the Xi XI the clear winner - sadly we will not be visiting this venue again,
