the hotel is a little isolated, only some restaurants nearby, there a british bar in the cave but

for 2 hours cost 2,20 euro,for a day 2,60,for 7 days 12 euros
you can make a nice walk on the "mountains" near the sea to mistra bay and further

I stay there for 4 nights with a group of friends, we each had a double room for a meagre 8€ per person per night! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms themselves were spatious and well maintained. It can be a bit noisy, as we found out when we realised after having a conversation that was a bit too loud and disturbed our neighbours one night - sorry !
I did not try the restaurant but can recommend the bar! Drinks were really cheap and again, the staff was extremely friendly: they let us finish our round of pool table before closing the bar one late evening. The setting is beautiful although there aren't that many restaurant and shops around. For this you will need to go to Bugibba on the other side of the bay.

We were with friends who are staying at the hotel for a month and the apartment was excellent with separate bedrooms and both ensuite. The hotel staff were very helpful and we made to feel very welcome with a particular mention of Alexis, Guest Relations who always seem to have a smile and useful advice and Maria who worked in the Restaurant and kept us entertained and worked very hard to make sure we had everything we wanted, a real star. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts with a good choice of cooked or continental and fresh fruit, yogurt etc. The only comment we would make concerning the evening meals was that we would have preferred a la carte as we did not always want all courses. Getting around Malta was not problem from the hotel as we were very close to the bus stops and by buying a day saver ticket for 2.60 Euros each we managed to see all we wanted to, excellent value. If we did not want to go far then we could enjoy lovely walks locally. A lovely break away from the British weather.

I visited Malta 5 times last year, and always exchanged through RCI. Based on that experience I did not have hight expectations when I did a last minute exchange with Dial-an-Exchange.I could not have been more wrong! From the first contact and right through, service could not have been better! In fact, I felt I had to write a mail to DIA just to say special thanks.

When we arrived to Porto Azzurro, the pleasant surprises continued. We had been upgraded to their lovely penthouse with breathtaking views, completely free of charge. The resort offers all you need for an enjoyable, hassle free vacation. All staff are extraordinarily friendly and helpful, but a special mention goes to lovely Alexis Meylaq, Guest Relations at Porto Azzurro, who went out of her way to make us feel welcome and looked after.

A clear 5 star vacation in a place I would love to come back to. Thank you, Dial-an-Exchange!

Came for six nights late November. The apartment suited us for the week great view of the bay. Warm weather we went home with a good winter tan. Probably got most of the colour from the long walks we went by foot around the surrounding area and took local buses to other parts of the Island for days out. Enjoyed the variety of places and found local bistros for lunch. Breakfast at the hotel was a bargain only 4 euros. Room was cleaned each day. Pool was big nice area to sit and relax. Recommended for bargain hunters.

My partner Keith Taylor and myself, Carol Creasey stayed at Porto Azzurro for a week from 1st to 8th January 2013. We had a nice room with all the facilities we needed for a pleasant stay. The cooker, and microwave were adequate, the bed was comfortable, and it was a very warm appartment.

I was very impressed with the cleanliness, a maid service and clean towels every day, and sheets changed twice in a week. Alexis was very helpful, she arranged for our tv to be retuned, as we couldn't get some of the channels, and she was very attentive, frequently asking us if we were ok, and if not could she help.

The breakfast for 4 euros was unbelievably good value, as much as you could eat for such a small price, and the evening meal, which we enjoyed twice that week was very nice, and the waitresses were also very polite and attentive. On the last morning we came down before breakfast was officially open, purely because we were getting an early bus to the airport for our flight, and the young waitress pulled out all the stops to serve us quickly, and we were very grateful.

I have just one small complaint, the shower door in our room needs replacing or repainting, as it had mould on it, but I understand the hotel is being refurbished, so I am sure that will be rectified.

We are very much looking forward to our next visit to Porto Azzurro, and would thoroughly recommend it to others.

I am a writer, and will be doing a more comprehensive review for your interest, so will post the link on here after it has been published.

Room Tip: There is a sea view to the front, and a country view to the rear of this hotel, both are good. We ex...

My husband and I stayed for 3 weeks from 15th December to 5th January, studio number 616 which overlooked the Bay and surrounding countryside. Studio was brilliant everything in it perfect, nice bathroom, comfy beds and little kitchen with all things needed for self catering and a little table and chairs. The weather was brilliant so much better than I hoped for and almost everyday we tucked ourselves out of the wind (when it was around which wasnt everyday) and we sunbathed by the pool which was clean but cold so we didnt swim there.. We have both come home looking like we went to the Carribean. My husband used the gym and we both went to the indoor pool which was clean and very relaxing. Cant comment about the restaurant in the hotel and we didnt use it, but the surrounding restaurants were all excellent especially "Sammys Tavern" and "The Pit Stop". The location of the hotel is lovely with excellent views and the bus stops are only 3 mins away with a daysaver ticked at 2.60 euros meant that you can explore the Island very cheaply which is what we did.
After reading some bad reviews of the hotel I really think these people must have been to another Hotel, the only thing that I could find fault with was the lighting in the kitchen was poor but certainly not enough to complain about. I would most certainly recommend this hotel to anyone and would absolutely defintely return.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the bay get the sun all day long.
