This is the third time we have stayed in this hotel and still enjoyed it. Yes the bathroom is small but why do you want it any bigger. The food was good a nice selection of it. Staff very pleasant and rooms cleaned and had fresh towels every day. What more do you want as you dont stay in room all day.We like to see the sights and there are plenty of them. We got a weekly bus ticket for 14 euros and went all over the show certainly had our moneys worth. Elton John was singing in a concert in the open but we couldnt get tickets so sat outside and you could hear it through all the speakers that were put up so that was a bonus. We did meet some people moaning about the hotel but they are the sort that will moan where ever they go.A holiday is what you make it and we certainly enjoyed ours.

arrived early hours to find room mouldy with plaster peeling off the ceiling and a bathroom mirror so mouldy it was impossible to see. Changed rooms the next day to a room that looked like a tenement block in an old american flm - balconies so close you felt like anyone could climb into your room. Changed to yet another room with sea view at additional cost to find that the toilet didnt flush except with a bucket. Ended up with bad stomach - was it the room or the poor quality of food. Whatever was the cause we would never go back to this hotel. A golden opportunity missed as the situation is probably one of the best in malta with sea front location and easy access to good local transport links to the north of the island. Beware the sharks telling you you have won a free holday or that there is a procession - its a timeshare sell and loses you at least an afternoon of your holiday. On the positive front Malta is briliant for sightseeing. The local buses give you the chance to travel around at very cheap rates - the only way to travel on the island. Just choose a different hotel!

read negative reviews prior to holiday and was slightly worried. Need not have been. We were on the 6th floor, room very spacious and clean. Clean towels every day. Food marvellous. Position of hotel excellent, as could walk for miles and enjoy the views. Also near to bus station to visit all of Malta. Shame about having to have new buses for next year, enjoyed the experience!

We had a sea view that was definattly worth having the only down fall was that I put on 8lbs in weight as the food was so good.
Well done everyone, we will definatly return

Just returned from a week 'all inclusive' at the Qwara Palace and it really isn't as bad as some of the reviews will have you believe. Bearing in mind we were there at the height of season ;
* the pool area got very overcrowded with Italian students most afternoons (but only from 3pm ish)
* the buffet restaurant would benefit (aswell as the waiting staff) from two sittings although the choice and standard of food was good
* the rooms were comfortable and very clean - with fresh linen & daily
* air conditioning throughout was very good and at no extra charge for bedrooms
* entertainment area/ pool area is good - with access to the sea (which we swam in daily- lovely). Some of the entertainment programme could do with updating but was still ok.
* we didn't experience any queues with the 'all inclusive' option at the bar.
However, one point that is raised again and again in the reviews and I cannot agree more with is to UPGRADE to....or atleast request a SEAVIEW room. It truely will make such a difference to your holiday. The seaview is wonderful and in total contrast, the alternative is horrendous - honest!

We too were concerned after reading some of the previous reviews but the hotel was clean, comfortable and our room on the top floor facing inwards was quiet. The much needed air con was very efficient. The bathroom was small but adequate. Food was excellent and great choice for vegetarians. A fantastic location only 5 minutes from the bus station. Pool was smaller than it looked in photos but being able to access the sea so easily more than made up for this. Loads of sunbeds. We loved the entertainment but it appeals more to the over 50s. Our only complaint was that the tables at the outside bar needed clearing and wiping more often.

1st we have visited malta 9 times so we know what to expect, this is not some moaning Brit,
The Hotel was as expected, a typical Maltiese offering of an over worked hotel and to be honest presentable on the outside and in the public areas but shabby and worn in the private rooms, our room was on the 3rd floor facing the front, the room was as expected, the air conditioning was a joke and the management responded to a complaint with less than any effort actually doing nothing, the maintanence man did not attend and we had to adjust to the heat. We met a Thompson rep (Thomas, from a previous holiday) who gave us more help and advise than the hotel reception, The advise is, fold up some card and place it in the key slot to activate the power in the room and leave the air con on all day with the sliding door shut and the curtains closed.
the advise from the hotel was to open the sliding doors when we went to sleep, the fact that we had our 3 year old son with us did not seem to worry the duty manager, and when we pointed out that the sliding door locks did not function he seemed not to see a problem with an infant potentially falling from a third floor balcony!!
Take some small wooden wedges with you, these can be wedged between the two sliding doors, to secure them. The rest of the room was shabby and worn, the maid service was erratic and about the norm for Malta's bigger Hotels. We tried to have a free pizza from the hotel, Pizzaria the staff seemed to try every way to prevent us, the unwritten rules are: not on sat or Sunday, not on public holidays, not if weather is dull or threatening rain, oh and don't forget you MUST give 24 hrs notice to the receptions staff. My advise is don't bother! try OZ Sofia by the George Pub, quick service and good grub, no stress!
The restaurant was about normal crampted poor breakfast chioce and quality, evening meal unimaginative and don't go for the steak and kidney pie we all got sickness and the runs!
in conclusion a Malta 4 star Hotel with 1 or 2 star service. I wish I could stay and pay when I leave, then perhaps these people would value our Euro's and value our experience with them.
Not a true refection of the real Maltiese people and this type of hotel must hurt those Maltiese people who want to make their island a place to be at.
Will I take my Euro's back to this hotel?
