this hotel is undergoing refurbishment.......about time as the room in which I stayed on Floor 8 of the building is more than dated. The bathroom, small and dark, had an unhealthy smell and the doorway to the small balcony to the rear of the hotel could not be closed properly as the surround had become unsecured from the outer wall. Two couples of my acquaintance demanded an immediate change of room as they considered the accommodation to be totally unacceptable.
As stated in other reviews the clientele of the hotel were mainly quite elderly, with zimmer frames and wheelchairs quite in evidence. The hotel activities were directed mainly at this group. Hardly in the first flush of youth myself, I felt myself to to be quite youthful in this company.!!!!!!
The breakfast was quite good with a reasonable selection of food. The dining room, however became quite crowded and, with the very close proximity of the tables, difficult to reach one's assigned table.
Generally speaking, staff members were polite with the exception of a couple of waiters.
In conclusion, this hotel deserves just about 3 stars

Room Tip: rooms with a sea view are preferable. However, those on the lower floors to the front of the buildin...

The stay at this hotel was booked through a holiday website. A sea view room was requested and ignored. We had a room that faced into the inner courtyard so it wasn't too bad.

The one thing I noticed about this hotel was that there were very few young couples or families, the majority of guests were elderly. The area of Qawra is very quiet as well. If you are younger and looking for any bit of a nightlife or access to the sea, then go to nearby Bugibba. This is a lovely lively spot. Qawra is not. Or if you want to be closer to Valletta, then Sliema or St Julians or Paceville are the areas to aim for when looking for accommodation. They also have a buzzing nightlife.

We were to meet our rep in the lobby at 10am on the first day. We, and several other guests were left sitting there for almost an hour before the man on the desk told us that the rep had been and gone and left us there. We were unimpressed. When we met him the next day, he gave a little speech about the attractions of Malta saying there was absolutely nothing to see around this area and we would have to go elsewhere for any form of entertainment. Lovely. At least Qawra is on the main bus route from Bugibba to Valletta, although this does take 1 hour.

While the staff at the desk were helpful, and the food on offer at breakfast was beautiful, I found the staff at breakfast very curt and unhelpful. Some of the guests were just as bad, but this is not the fault of the hotel.

One redeeming factor was that the Hop On Hop Off Sightseeing Bus Tour stops at the hotel so that is very convenient. There is an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool, and everywhere was very clean.

But, I would not stay here again.

this hotel is suitable for people who are more mature although it is good for most ages. It is situated just a 5 minute walk from buggiba town and bus station. The busses are frequent and cheap with a day ticket costing just €2.60 and that will take you anywhere and you can get on and off where you want. St Paul's bay town is about 30 minutes walk with a lovely view on the way, a mug of coffee or tea for just €1 and 1/2 roast chicken and chips, burger and chips and 2 small beers for just €13 what a bargain. The weather is still good although we had some rain it didn't spoil the holiday, the evenings can be a bit cool but the days are still nice and warm, although there is no beach the pool was adequate with a drinks and food and snacks available. There was entertainment every evening maybe not to everyone's taste but over the week there was plenty of variety.

The only down side to this hotel was the food could be a lot better,if the dinning rooms food was of the same standard as the Cafes then it would get a much better review. Plenty of in house entertainment for the more elderly guests.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms can be noisy

We stayed at this hotel for one week in early October, having read some of the reviews we were a little concerned about what we might find. We need not have worried the staff on the reception desk were polite and helpful, our room was clean and comfortable, the towels were changed everyday. We had a side sea view and although it over looked the road we were not disturbed by the traffic. The standard of food was good and the price of drinks were very reasonable. We had hired a car and had no problem parking outside the hotel, it may have been different in high season though. When we visited Valletta we did go by bus and found them to be excellent value for money and ran at regular intervals. We had a really good stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a high level room with a view of the sea.

We read some of the reviews for this hotel we were a bit worried, when we arrived from the airport on the transfer we were pleasantly surprised how airy and spacious the lobby was.The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. We were allocated a court yard room with a small balcony but suited us and was lovely and quiet.
The staff in the restaurant were very polite and helpful the food was of a very good standard and we had no complaints.service is a buffet style service.
There is a lady called Rita who is available to book for a massage and we would really recomment indulging in this, very reasonably priced
There are a few little bits that aren't included in the all inclusive price, like matteress for the sun beds but for 2 euro's who can complain.
The only thing that was a little bit of a let down was the weather but that was just best cause of the late October booking.
I am already looking at returning next year.

having read some of the reviews for this hotel we were a bit worried, when we arrived from the airport on the transfer we were pleasantly surprised how airy and spacious the lobby was.The staff at reception were friendly and helpful considering they were checking in a coach of 50 plus people. The room we were allocated turned out to be a family room with 4 beds, some critic of the room as it looked on to the courtyard it felt very dark and oppressive, probably due to the time of year.Balcony was very small about 3ft wide with no light to let you sit out at night,as you entered the room it could do with a down lighter as it is quite dark as you enter. The staff in the restaurant were very polite and helpful the food was of a very good standard and we had no complaints.service is a buffet style service although if you were half board as we were you had to pay for tea and coffee. The house beer is stella which cost 3 euros,if you want a pint with a head it is best to go to the pool bar and get it in a plastic tumbler. This is the first time we have been to Malta and will definitely return.Do you like classic cars or motorcycles then this is the place for you took a walk from the hotel on Sunday morning along the seafront to see classic cars and bikes being used as they should,The classic car museum is well worth a visit as are all the places on this island,we only had a week here but you would probably have to come to this remarkable island at least a couple of times.Local buses run from about 06.00 until 22.00 a day ticket costs 2.60 euros for a day ticket to jump off as many buses as you want,7 day ticket costs 12 euros.Get a Malta pass as the museum entrance fee can work out quite expensive.

Room Tip: Better to pay extra for a sea view.
