“Very dissapointed :/”

We have been coming to this hotel as a couple for a long time. This saturday for my fathers birthday me and my family (7 adults and 2 children) went again. Unfortunately we were very dissapointed with the service and what happened on our first night. I checked the guest Directory to see what time the pool closed and it said that it closed at 7pm. Since it was Saturday I called the reception to confirm and they said that indeed it closed at 7. Once we got everyone dressed and the kids where happy and excited we went down to the pool and we were told that children under 16 are not allowed after 5pm even though there where ppl in the pool with children at the time. It was unfair and unjust as it was not specified anywhere before going down to the pool area and we spentthe rest of the night with a crying 3 year old wwho couldn't go to the pool. Had it been specified anywhere on the guest directory or by the reception we would have gone down earlier and not ruined our whole experience. The people at the spa reception where very rude and even before mentioning children they looked at us and said omg how many ppl. (8) The people at reception and the manager all kept telling us "your right" and " we are sorry" but we got no reimbursement for our spoiled stay and being a large group we paid a pretty penny for a half board stay. I am sorry to say if there is nothing done about this matter me and my family and other friends will not be recommending or returning to this hotel. As repeat customers we felt we were treated unjustly and we feel let down.

We are repeat customers and would highly recommend this Hotel , great value for money and nice location. Always best to get a sea view room but all the rooms are nice. The staff is very helpful and multi lingual.

This is a wonderful hotel with excellent food. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and try to accommodate any reasonable requests from guests. We have returned repeatedly and been happy with each stay.

We spent 4 nights at the Dolmen in December. This was our first time in Malta and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff where friendly. However, at best it is a 3 star hotel - the building and fittings are a little old and tired looking but the staff work hard to keep it clean. The majority of the people there appeared to be attending conference events. We had a nice room having paid extra for a sea view (a must). However, there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, the mini bar is kept empty, there is an extra charge for using the safe (11 euros per stay) and the toiletries are minimal and basic. The room walls are paper thin and every noise from neighbours (including those walking about above) can be heard. We were lucky in that we only had neighbours next door for the one night. Reception staff are friendly but on arrival we were directed to our room but given no further information (breakfast times, location of bar, restaurant, etc) - its basically a case of find your own way round! The hotel is however very well positioned with the bus station just behind it. 2.60 euos gets an adult day ticket with which you can go anywhere on the island with as many trips as you like. The bus service is first class and its very easy to follow the timetables and routes. As per a previous review there is large scale building work behind the hotel but we never found this a problem given we were on the front and we heard minimal noise. Finally, the resort itself was very quiet and some places were shut. There are still some good places to eat and drink.

returned to UK 1st December, my room was lovely with full sea view over St Pauls Bay,arrived in hot weather sadly after 10 days had major storms this unsettled the weather for the rest of our stay,however we were always able to get out for several hours, was the worst November Weather for 20 years!reading others reviews,I always find ALL the staff at this hotel friendly,attentive,and helpful, however if you talk to them in an arrogant way what do you expect I am a fussy person and nothing was ever to much for the staff to rectify. I am beginning to think my lovely hotel is suffering from its own success,large groups arriving all the time,all expecting to be fed,served,and dealt with within seconds. I really do not know how the staff in all areas manage to keep smiling, but they do. it is obvious to me that certain Nationalities expect vastly different things from their visit. to sum up I enjoyed yet another stay, in spite of some illmannered,abnoxious, ,very noisy guests ,I will certainly return

The Hotel is fantastic. The staff were great. Food very good and a good variety. Cleanliness great. Room service was great too. I will definately return to this fantastic venue. I sincerely recommend this hotel without any hesitation

My room was a bit cold. Otherwise everything was fine. I liked the food, although the restaurant was sometimes rather crowded. We had an Assembly General of our sports organization, so we could use the halls of the hotel for our meetings, which were suitable for the purpose. Unfortunately, I did not have time to go to the spa.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a seaview.
