“Clogged shower and no discount, unfriendly manager”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

I arrived late and the bath tub had 10 inches of dirty water in it. So the shower could not be used and except for an apology and the acknowledgement that his staff knew it and he made a mistake not even a Discount was offered on the Price of 90 €.

The B&B is housed in a couple of buildings that are adjoined. There are about 5 rooms and 4 appartements. This makes it quite small.

When we arrived late we were directly shown to our room. A large room, with a large bathroom. The rooms are air-conditioned and a very quite air-conditioning as well. The reception of the owner was very friendly. The room contained two complimentary bottles of water. The rooms are very clean, and stylishly decorated. In all the complete B&B looks very nice. A lot of attention has been given to the decoration. Also the surroundings are well kept, with a beautiful garden.

The breakfast every morning has french bread, with a selection of fruits, jams, cheese, salami. Eggs are made at request. After breakfast you can take your coffee with you and enjoy it on the summerlounge.

The pool is quite large, with plenty of deckchairs to sit. However, to lie down completely you need different chairs, and if the b&b is full, you have to be early to get one of those.

On our last afternoon, we stayed two nights, we got a complementary glass of wine from the region. A nice sparkling wine.

In generally: this is definitely a place I can recommend. We understood that if you want to book one of the departments you have to book almost a year in advance, but it is absolutely worth it.

We stayed in one of the apartments for a 2 week family holiday in August 2010 and it is rated as one of our best holidays by our children who were 14, 12 & 10 at the time. We have spent holidays in the Italian lakes region previously, but this was a last minute booking and was further from the Lakes than I planned but it proved to be a real winner. We drove out from the UK and arrived in a rainstorm of biblical proportions, which made locating Corte dei Soave a little challenging, but from the next morning the sun shone and we had a wonderful time. The owners are delightful and very helpful, despite their limited English and our limited Italian. They directed us to lovely local restaurants and wineries. Soave is a short drive away and with the small but well stocked supermarket and the market we were able to self-cater easily on the days when we chose to relax by the pool and enjoy the views across the vineyards. We frequently had the pool to ourselves in the daytime as the B&B guests tended to be short stay and used the pool for a quick dip! Locally, there are lovely bike rides and walks. We visited Verona and Vicenza and went by train to Venice from a station not far away. We drove north into the beautiful and uncrowded Lessinia National Park where we hiked and found a fabulous cheesmaker and restaurant serving homemade gnocci with butter and cheese and a rabbit ragu with pasta which was out of this world. We didn't miss the Lakes one bit, as we found plenty to occupy our time exploring this lovely area. Overall it was a very memorable holiday and our stay at Corte dei Soave was a special part of the whole experience.

We spent just a night in this absolutely beautifully renovated Italian "contrada" (small group of countryhouses), and just loved the beauty of the place, the quietness, the surronunding countryside and vinyards. Very practical for those who would love to visit the Verona area, while staying in a calm and relaxing place. The manager is very nice and helpful, and I'm sure we'll go back there in the future.

My wife and I along with my sister in law and her husband spend three nights here during a 17 day trip in Italy. We each had a room in the B&B portion. Soave was our stop after spending several days in Rome and Venice. We all just loved this place. It has only been open a little over a year since a renovation so it has all the expected modern conveniences. The rooms are nice sized and very clean; same for the bathrooms. The owners are just the nicest people in the world, although they speak almost no English; their son speaks good English but he is not around much as he works in one of the nearby towns. They would bring us wine and snacks from time to time and the breakfasts were out of this world. The scenery is just breathtaking and after the hustle and bustle of Rome and Venice it was perfect. We used it as a center to explore Padua, Vicenza area, and Verona, but if you are looking for some quiet down time you could just stay on property and enjoy the pool, visit other small nearby towns, or hike the surrounding hillsides that are all covered with vinyards. It was a bit hard to find- I suggest getting step by step directions if you are driving. The internet was slow, but you should be outside admiring the countryside not surfing the net here!

This is a very tasteful Bed and Breakfast that also has apartments for rent. It is 5 minutes drive from Soave, which is the most delightful walled town, 25 minutes from Verona and less than an hour to Lake Garda, so in a perfect position. The accommodation is nestled into the hillside amongst vineyards. The owners are delightful and after a warm welcome, left us alone to relax in the tranquil surroundings. There is a fantastic pizzeria 10 minutes walk away. If you expect the highest of standards then you will not be disappointed.
