If it were possible to give a hotel 20 marks out of 10 this one would deserve it. A charming building in a charming alpine village under the slopes of the Monte Rosa massif its real charm lies in the welcome offered by Annamaria, the presiding genius. And she is a genius. We arrived at the start of the season, but alas a mix up meant we arrived one day early and the hotel was not yet ready for business. Entirely our fault. Did Annamaria turn us away? No, she laughed, as she laughed at all problems, and showed us to our room, which was perfect. Then she went back to filling in the window boxes. Next morning she provided a breakfast including bread she had baked herself and eggs from her own chickens.. I have never had a wlecome to compare with this. We cqnnot wait to return, but on the right date next time

Our son in law had organised an Easter family ski vacation (April 1-8, 2013) through an agency specialized in active vacations such as skiing. The ski station, or better, the small ski town Gressoney-la Trinité was unknown to us although we had been in the area of Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and Breuil Cervinia 35 years ago.
The ski area was good with choices for everyone, relatively easy red and black slopes, well groomed, and "free ride" with heli drops, skiing into Switzerland and back in Italy.

So far for the skiing. If you add to this a great hotel like Romantik Hotel Yolanda, you have the recipe for a great vacation. If the hotel had not been part of the arrangement, we would have chosen it in other circumstances, on the basis of the very favourable and true reviews. The Hotel is not a vacation type of resort but a genuine stylish hotel as in “the old days”. All of the four rooms we occupied with our children and five grandchildren were stylish, comfortable, clean and spacious with large comfortable beds and bath rooms.
The breakfast and dinner were both extensive and presented both in buffet style and “service à table”, a great choice of delicately prepared (Italian) food. Perhaps the time (7.45pm) was a bit too late for the younger children with us.
The dining room is beautiful and in fact looks even nicer than on the website.

We enjoyed daily the spa area (sauna, steam bath, showers and an outside Jacuzzi filled with ice-cold water) while the children played in the warm inside pool.

Not to forget: the ski lift is just next to the ski room!

And finally there is also the owner Anna-Maria, well known from the reviews. She had a knee injury at the time we were there which did not prevent her from visiting the guests, always prepared for a good chat and giving an advice when asked for. We value our visit of this friendly family run hotel very much and will remember it for a long time!

Very nice hotel, wonderful meals and helpful staff - most speak english. They did everything to make your stay comfortable. Spa area was small but well-kept - and good with separation between adult and children areas. The location is perfect : right by the lift. The skiing area is great with wide well-kept slopes. Not for complete beginners, though. Were there in april and almost no people - this also means that bars/restaurants are very quite.

We went to Gressoney in April after having heard about the great skiing possibilities in the area. We selected Hotel Jolanda based on good reviews. We were not disappointed!

The hotel is perfectly situated 10 meters from the lift to the mountains. You could literally step into the skis outside the door.

The rooms were very nice and clean, with large beds and good storage space.

The service was very good - always accommodating requests and giving helpful advises.

We had breakfast and dinner in the hotels all three days. The selections on the buffet for breakfast was fantastisc - fresh meats, cheese, eggs, bacon, sausages, different breads, vegetables and fruit - amazing. Similarly, the 4 course dinners were excellent. They started with a great buffet of starters - all kinds of vegetables, salads, meats. The primi's and secondies were different each day and always of excellent quality. Finally, the desserts - yummy! One day it was a buffet of desserts with all kinds of cakes, puddings and fruit.

The atmosphere in the hotel is very nice.

This is a spa hotel with pools and saunas - very pleasant!

We will be back!

We have been going here for over 6 years. A really great, friendly, family run hotel with fantastic facilities. Rooms are stylish and comfortable, beds are turned down every night, and you even get a sweet for bedtime :) It is ideally located with the ski lift at the back door, and skiing back virtually into the hotel boot room. The buffet salads are amazing, followed by three courses and an amazing selection of local wines, so you don't go hungry or thirsty!
Nothing is too much trouble, and we find it hard to fault. Highly recommend a visit.

Stayed at hotel Jolanda Sport 16-23 February 2013 (family of four) and must give a five star rating when taking all aspects of our stay into account. The location of the hotel could not be better, right next to the chairlift. Breakfast and dinner are both excellent. This was already my third visit to this hotel. Thank you, Annamaria & Co!
