What a lovely quaint hotel. We were upgraded to a junior suite which had a small balcony where we could sit and enjoy the sunshine and views. The dining room was tastefully decorated. We enjoyed two superb dinners there during our stay, the young chef has real flair, incorporating beautiful presentation as well as interesting combinations of flavours. The staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful, suggesting interesting places to visit locally. We would definitely stay there again if we returned to Tuscany. Our only complaint would be that there was a lack of whisky in the bar!!

A good hotel for viewing surrunding area. Breakfast was good with attentive service. Room small but we switched to Junior Suite at extra cost. Garage was also extra but adequate parking within walking distance. Pool was not open in April. A few excellent restaurants locally

Our original hotel accommodations at the Villa Bianca was cancelled because their compressor was not working properly. We were referred to Una Palazzo Mannaioni in Montaione and we were pleasantly surprised. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Catarina - Manager who welcomed us and upgraded our room to a balcony suite. It was March 8 - Women's Day so I had the honor of having my picture taken for their celebration. Travel weary and my picture on Facebook - so shocking to say the least. Our four days were calm, quiet and so enjoyable. Catarina, the restaurant staff and Julian made our 27th Anniversary so memorable. We were able to experience a fabulous sunset every night and enjoy the hospitality of the friendly people in Montaione. A real gem of a hotel - it's so hidden you can't find the grocery store!

Room Tip: We traveled in March before the "season" so it was not crowded at all. Also, the wineries...

We went for a 4 day stay. The region is wonderfull, especially visit San Gimigniano! We booked the hotel and there were no available rooms in the newer part which is much quieter and rooms look much better.
In the main building you can see some age in the rooms. They are spacious but then the cabinets are old, bathroom is not looking freshest either. But nice roomy OK rooms. The pool is quite small if more people decide to go and the parking is challenging especially for sport cars due to hill and angles you have to take :)
Service is fine, the people at reception were extra nice for Italians. Food excellent, I had some of my best pasta ever (and I am a big Italian cuisine fan). Only the waiters looked a bit stressed, don`t know why. About 150 meters there is a nice place for views and relax, there is also small supermarket nearby.

We had a nice stay in the hotel and area around. Would choose the rooms in the newer part and make sure you have a plan to do something. In the town itself you have pretty much nothing...

Room Tip: Get a room in the new part

Montaione is a great base for exploring the surrounding areas without being swarmed by tourists in the evening. The hotel has been beautifully restored, with a great pool - all in the centre of the village. We stayed in the new wing and were comfortable and cosseted. The rooms had great bathrooms, were beautifully styled and have everything that you would need. The staff were charming and very helpful and there was a great hot/cold buffet every morning with excellent service. We did not drink in the hotel as found it quite pricey - but slipped out of the back door up to the church square. There is an excellent Tabbachi selling delicious local wines by the glass which provides a great spot for people watching. Definitely recommend this hotel and town.

great hotel and staff. Great jumping off point for San Gimignano and Volterra. Would definitely stay there again. The staff was particularly helpful and the views from the town were spectacular. Although the hotel was difficult to get to, it was worth the effort.

A must stay when visiting Montaione for business.
Beautiful building full of history and a restaurant serving excellent food and wine
Breakfast is also something to look forward to, with freshly baked croissants and many other wonderful things to die for.
