“Best Food in the World!! Yup!!”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

Not just a hidden gem but indeed a treasure trove of eclectic Thai dishes that are all freshly prepared and very tasty!! Don't let the location or the outside area fool you as this is by far the best food in the area and perhaps even the world. Excellent friendly service and your choice of mild to Thai (authentic) Spicy!! I take Spicy please all day long!! Outstanding Thai Beer choices as well. Don't miss out, this is fantastic mouthwatering cuisine!!

“Hidden gem in Richmond”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

It really is quite difficult to find good, authentic ethnic food in Richmond, but that said I love this place!!! Located next to the Big lots on Broad Street, the facade is misleading; this is a great little place to get some awesome Thai food. the owners themselves make all the food and service all the customers themselves which makes it very personal. They alwasy know what i want when i go in and always provide great service. I love their Pad see Eww, curry noodles and Panang Curry with Chicken. Also, if you tend to prefer thai food not so spicy stick with the mild version and ask for the spice tray (the medium spicy is pretty hot!).

“Friendly Thai”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

This is an awesome thai eatery. The food is fresh, and owners are always friendly. I visit at least 5 times a month.

Best Wonton soup ever.

“Get the American hot if you like a good kick”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

The American hot was the perfect amount of spice for someone who likes spicy food. The spice didn't linger too long afterwards so it was easy to keep eating. The wonton soup wasn't that great, kind of plain. The drunken noodle was delicious, but the chicken was a bit dry. The green peppers were perfect to counteract the spice. Overall it was good and I would come again, but I have nothing to compare it to in the Richmond area.

“not fancy but real tasty”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

So I gave Chadar a second try, and liked it much better. I ordered the steamed spring rolls (they are huge), which come with a delicious peanut sauce. Next I tried the chicken coconut soup. It was a little sweet with a tad of bitterness, and pretty flavorful with the mushrooms, cilantro and onions. Finally I sampled the chicken cashew: a mix of broccoli, carrots, scallions, onions in a slightly sweet sauce with 2 (instead of the usual 1) scoops of white rice. It's quite mild so just throw some dry crushed cayenne peppers on it. All in all, Chadar has good reasonably priced thai food.
