“fun fun fun!”

Loved the menu, the atmosphere and the staff. The food was super hot and fresh and they treated me (dining alone) very nicely. Good value and within a good location if you are staying at places like the Linden Row Inn, the Jefferson etc

“Wonderful overall”

Very good experience at Tarrants in Richmond. We had a short wait for a table, as it was very busy at lunch time on a Sunday. My husband had a hot italian sub with sweet potato fries that he really enjoyed. I had the fish and shrimp tacos that were just delicious! The shrimp tacos had an amazing sweet and spicy salsa that was to die for. My sons had pasta and cheese pizza from the kid menu and both were good. The pizza was notable as having good, fresh tomato sauce and tasty cheese (not "normal" kid pizza). We did have to wait around 20 minutes or so for our food to arrive but the quality of the food made it worthwhile. We would definitely return to Tarrants for lunch or dinner.

“I wanna go back!”

The moment we were ushered in, I knew it would be great. I had the pleasure of being seated near the kitchen since we were with a large group. A feast for the eyes! They had a full house and didn't miss a beat - kept the drinks flowing and the smiles glowing. The She Crab Soup was incredibly delicious

Incredible! The service was great and the food was yummy. My daughter and I split the hot turkey sandwich and it was plenty.

“Wonderful food! Interesting Decor.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Our hotel recommended we eat here. I checked out the reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to take a chance. The food was excellent. My dinner companion had lasagne topped with the best roasted zucchini and squash that I have EVER tasted. I choose to splurge on the risotto with scallops. It was very, very good and the portion was huge! I just couldn't eat it all. Our waiter was a bit young and lacking in grace but he ultimately made up for it by telling us about First Fridays and Illuminights. It turns out we were in town for an annual event and knew nothing about it. Thanks to him giving us a heads up, we had an entertaining evening! A few other things we enjoyed about this restaurant were the amazing, period decor and the mix of people. Over the years, I've found myself rarely disappointed in a restaurant that attracts an ecclectic mix and this restaurant had the most eclectic mix I've ever seen. There were office types at the bar enjoying drinks, elderly couples having early dinners, several families, couples on dates, and even a group of artsy, hip-hop type dudes. Perhaps this had something to do with the special event but if it's a regular mix it's a sure sign of a quality dining experience. Don't miss it.
