Attended a VCU student film festival and this place was beautiful. Great location in Carytown and difficult parking but worth a trip for the design. Seats are the worst part but still worth a visit.

The theater was like stepping back in time. The auditorium was very detailed and stunning. For the price of admission it would have been worth $2 just simply to see the theater, let alone see a movie. The Byrd Theater is definitely not to be missed in Richmond.

Unique, antique, tremendously charming and only 2 dollars. What's not to like?...well..accept that human beings have gotten a little bit larger since this theater was created and the seats can be a tiny bit cramped.

1.99 movies, balcony view, and a beautiful theater. where else can you get something like that? Although the seats are a little bit smaller than the usual, the price makes up for it. Also, movies that are already out of regular theaters are normally still at the Byrd for about a week after, so that is a nice benefit. I recommend this theater to everyone.

This is a very old historical theater, and they show movies after they have left the main theaters, the seating is still with the original chairs, and on the weekend they have an Organ Player on the stage play before the show begins. Very interesting to see a theater like this, and see all the old photos of back in the day along the walls. Old place indeed, but still shows off its Historical Glamour.
