“What a deal!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Our overnight winter package included breakfast at TJ's. We were seated immediately at a nice window table. The menu was varied and interesting. The service was excellent. The food was outstanding. My partner at the Eggs benedict with country ham and said "why would you ever use canadian bacon after tasting how delicious this is. My shrimp and grits was quite good although the shrimp could have used a little more flavoring. The meal would have been worth the prices on the menu but what a treat to have this included. There were no restrictions with our voucher and the tip was included in the voucher which was an extra value and also eliminated any uncertainty about tipping. We were treated perfectly. True class at The Jefferson.

“Very attractive spot for breakfast in downtown Richmond”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

While staying overnight at the Jefferson Hotel, part of our package included breakfast at TJ's in the hotel. The furnishings were very attractive, with crisp white starched linens, and nice table settings. Service was perfect. Our breakfast included freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, endless cups of very good coffee, and an entree off the (fairly imaginative) menu. One of us chose the eggs Benedict (with a biscuit for the bottom, and shredded pork for the meat). The poached eggs were perfectly done, but the Hollandaise was watery and not lemony or buttery enough. the accompanying grits were mixed with some other sort of starch, and the result didn't make the cut! My husband had the potato/pulled pork hash with two sunny-side up eggs on top, accompanied by wheat toast. The hash need a bit more seasoning, he said. We tend to be fairly critical of breakfast food, since we own a bed and breakfast! We would recommend this nicely appointed restaurant, however, and loved the comfortable, upscale surroundings. We woul just order different choices next time.

“A "bar with a view"”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

TJ's the informal bistro, in the Jefferson Hotel, has much to offer: a great view of the truely magnificantly appointed grand entry of The Jefferson Hotel; a comfortable lounge attmosphere for people watching + it has televisions for those who don't want to miss the big game; and the food is good and reasonably priced.

“cold bad food”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

Food was just cold. What I ordered was over seasoned and over salted and I do enjoy salty food. My husband's meal was cold and he got stomach pains. Ordered something from the bar menu once too and they said they had to redo it as they burned it first time around. We really had a bad experience
