“Very disappointing”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

Dinner at Zeus Gallery last night was extremely disappointing. I ordered seared shrimp and scallops that came with julienned vegetables, the entire dish piled in a mound sitting in a spicy broth. If the shellfish was seared that was not visible to me and the entire meal consisted of four small shrimp and two medium scallops. Cost was $23, with tax, $25 something. Our server was wonderful, but my friend and I both thought the dinners were grossly overpriced for what we got, and mine in particular was not anything special.

“Excellent”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

I was on business trip by myself. Great food. Comfortable setting; small, about 10 tables. Had softshell crab for 1st time in my life; wonderful. They serve other seafood that looked great too, and steak. Salad to die for. Located in neat neighborhood, old homes with huge porches, arts district, lots of folks out walking around, i walked down to the museum after eating. Can't go wrong with this pick. Very resonable price considering quality of food, sauces, extras.

“True neighborhood gem”

The food is always fabulous. I had a special dinner party coming up and the owner made his amazing chocolate dessert for me to take out and serve. It was incredible.

“It could have been an off day”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

This is one of our four favorite restaurants in Richmond. We usually pass through every two months or so and try to get to at least one or two of them. This time it was Zeus. The service was excellent as usual and the menu and wine list continue to change often. Both are written on chalkboard. We selected salads to start and they were unique, fresh and flavorful. Our main course, however, did disappoint. The rockfish seemed a bit under done and we couldn't tell if the crab cakes had a filler or that the crab meat was so finely chopped (as in a food processor) that it affected the texture. When the maque choux upon which they were placed was more satisfying, there could be a problem. The meal, overall, was very good but we know we have had better at Zeus. We did note that the kitchen staff has changed since our last visit. Hopefully, when we return they will have returned to providing an excellent meal.

“Great place in the Museum district”

Excellent spot for a date or to stop by and get some brunch or dinner with friends. Very intimate setting. Great staff and the chalkboard menu hits the spot. Best key lime pie i ever had!
