“Valentine's Day Dinner”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

We tried this because everyone is always saying how much they love it and that we "absolutely have to try it." I suppose this is one of those places that you either just love or it is a place that you will try out once or twice and decide that it just isn't for you.

Likes: I loved that it has comfortable booths and our waiter was EXCELLENT. I really wish I remembered his name. The appetizers and desserts were pretty good and I liked how laid back it was. It made dining so relaxing rather than just in and out.

Dislikes: You know, I think I am just not a fan of boiling my own meat. I likes the concept but just not the taste of it. It was very bland and tasted just like what it was...boiled meat on a stick. Some of the sauces were yummy, though.

A terrific choice for anniversary celebrations. The booths are somewhat secluded which is very romantic. Special dinners are reasonable for the amount o food you get. Food is very, very good. The wine list is extensive and we've never been steered wrong with a wine pairing. Staff is extremely friendly.

“Nice but needs flexibility”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

The good news about Melting Pot is that it's a real fondue place. That bad news is that it's ONLY a fondue place. If you're dining as we were with people that have significant food allergies, Melting Pot lacks the flexibility to deal with this problem. Your first course is going to be a cheese fondue. There's no other choice. If you're allergic to cow's milk, you're out of luck. The main course is a meat and vegetable fondue cooked in broth. If you have a fish allergy, you'd better hope that everybody orders steak to cook in the common pot.

The result was an expensive meal with very small portions, and no effort on the part of the restaurant to accommodate guest needs. Plus it was expensive for what you got.

“Special Event Place”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We enjoy Melting Pot for special occasions (i.e. romantic). They've started a cheese fondue and dessert deal if you sit at the bar - very reasonably priced! Neat atmosphere but not a romantic environment (which is ok with us). We have started going several times a year and sitting at the bar.

“Fun Chain Restaurant!”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

This is probably my favorite chain restaurant. The whole "fondue thing" is fun and something a little different. The food is good and they often have special events like wine tasting and dessert.
