The cemetery was difficult to find even with a GPS, due to sewer work being done in the neighborhood. The hostess was a charming lady who was very helpful and got me started in the right direction. This place is huge and the map is very tiny and difficult to read, but if you just walk about and take your time you will be rewarded by some amazing grave markers of some very famous Virginians, including four presidents, signers of the Declaration of Independence, Civil War Generals and officers, and the tomb of Jefferson Davis. This spot is concentrated history and the scenery is breathtaking, especially from the Bluffs where Monroe and Madison are buried. This isn't a place to spend a half hour. I spent almost three hours roaming about. The gardeners are very helpful in finding individuals you want to find.
