love the monuments and old houses. Took my Dad to where he lived when he was 7, pretty cool.

“Touring Monument Avenue by car”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

It was a beautiful, warm May afternoon, and we toured the street by car. It was a pleasant time, and quite enjoyable. I would suggest a bike tour would have been better -- easier to see, easier to stop and enjoy the monuments, etc. The street seems a bit long for a walking tour -- but, again, a bike tour would have been better. I would allow two hours for a full bicycle tour.

“A Great Drive from the West End to Richmond City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2012

Its a nice drive, showcasing beautiful homes and post-Civil War monuments throughout the length of the drive. The old cobblestone road toward the end is really cool too.

“Great Monuments”

Easy to view this avenue when visiting a lot of the other historical sites and museums. Beautiful homes along the avenue as well as the monuments.

“A lovely walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2012

We walked down Monument Avenue to General Grant's statue. Beautiful buildings on both sides of the road, but some were needing a bit of work. We then drove down the road further and looked at all the old/large houses - what a beautiful (and expensive) place this is. When the blooms are out and it is warm (as it was for us), it is a delightful place.
