Spent a perfect morning here on a lovely Fall day! I particularly enjoyed the Greek and Roman display, the Art Deco and art nouveau collections, the European silver, and the French artwork. But the most fabulous part was the Faberge collection! Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be coming back here soon!

There are not many free art museums outside Washington, DC. Here is one, with a diverse set of exhibits from ancient artifacts to contemporary American painting. Don't miss the amazing Faberge collection that includes photos of the doomed Russian royal family. Go to the top floor for the Mellon collection of 19th century French art and the Art Deco furniture. All a bargain at no charge. Tip: the museum is in a new building on Boulevard. The former museum is now a study center.

Enjoyed my trip at the museum because:

1) beautiful sculpture garden
2) diverse collection of art
3) superb highlights tour given by Linda (she had great interest and passion for the collection)
4) nice cafe with reasonably priced food (given that it’s in a museum)
