Great place to walk with small children. Lots to see, with wide open spaces for kids to run off a little energy. Was a little hard to find (being from out of town) , but definitely a must see!

We loved the house. Our docent was amazing. The house is worth seeing, there is NO push to donate or pay, and that alone was so refreshing. It is so authentic!
Also enjoyed the gardens. There is a lot of territory to cover, so wear comfy shoes.

A great fun-filled place! Lots to see and do and there is also a great architecture part. The many animals include peacocks, goats, bulls, a bobcat, bears, deer, sheep, and much much more!

Beautiful, loved, well cared for. A Richmond institution. Go see the animals, go for a walk, or tour the mansion. Perfect place for a picnic. Lot of people get married here.

What a gem! The grounds are open to the public (donations are suggested) -- flower gardens, a view of the river, a Japanese garden, a children's zoo. The house itself is beautiful and well worth taking the tour. All the wild animals kept on the grounds, including bears, birds of prey, and a bobcat, are rescued animals. Both my kids and my wife and I enjoy visiting Maymont.
