What a gem! The grounds are open to the public (donations are suggested) -- flower gardens, a view of the river, a Japanese garden, a children's zoo. The house itself is beautiful and well worth taking the tour. All the wild animals kept on the grounds, including bears, birds of prey, and a bobcat, are rescued animals. Both my kids and my wife and I enjoy visiting Maymont.
