We stumbled upon this tour one Sunday evening while strolling down the Canal Walk. A tour was just about to pull out, and our guide stopped to allow us time to buy tickets and hop on. The price was pretty cheap ($5 for adults), and well worth the price of the history and scenery we saw. The tour guide was engaging and knowledgeable, and gave an interesting account of the origins of the canal system in Richmond up until their displacement by the railroads. The tour was fast (approximately 45 minutes), but we learned a lot, and got to see a part of the city we would never have otherwise visited. I really think this tour is a worthwhile venture, for both residents of Richmond and people visiting town.
