“craving carmel and lava salt gellato”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012

Such an eclectic menu with amazing variety of tastes and texture. As 60 something foodies we were probably the oldest folks in the restaurant but we were treated well, devoured every morsel and came home to add items to our own grocery list. We were blown away by the mellow black garlic spread. We liked that there were a variety of size dishes so we could try so many of the interesting items on the menu. The carmel and lava salt gellato was AMAZING. Prices were reasonable for the quality and quanity of food. Our only comment was the salad we had was a bit bland compared to the other items we tried.

Since we don't live in Richmond I hope we can get back to the Blue Goat soon. When we do I hope they have foie gras milkshakes on the desert menu. The night we were there there was a private chef's table that served the milkshakes. There were some concerned looks when they were served but I noticed when the glasses came out they were COMPLETELY emptied.

“Blue Goat made me Happy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

We had a large party and reserved Table 88". Several people in our group had heard reviews that included adjectives such as different, interesting, small portions, and unique.

Everyone was game to give it a try, and very glad we did. The menu offers items ranging from little nibbles to satisfying full entrees. The fried pig ear seems to be the gimmick du jour, but the other dishes were innovative, interesting and yummy!

Roasted goat and mascarpone polenta - no 'kidding', this stuff is great!
Oysters - perfect & local, best of both worlds
Crab salad - nomnomnom, pinch me

The list goes on. Be prepared for a lively environment, servers who know their stuff and naturally interact with diners.

“Amazing meal!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012

The Blue Goat is a sharing style restaurant, where you order your dishes and they come out of the kitchen when they are ready. We had dinner there with friends, shared 6 dishes and every dish was better than the last one. Very fun atmosphere, we sat at a booth and while it was noisy it was fine and easy to talk.

“Creative Menu and Lots of Fun!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

I just love the Blue Goat. It's got a neat atmosphere and the food is always creative and delicious. The bartenders are great and provide great recommendations on both food and drink. Our waitress was kind of .... not very nice or helpful, but we just ignored her after a while, no need for her sour mood to ruin ours. Other times we've had great servers there, I think she was probably an exception. If you want a fun night out with friends that will tickle your taste buds, this is the place to go.

“What's not to like”

The only down side to this place is the noise level. Well that's what happens when you're popular. The food is great and interesting
