Both of the museums are chock full of information! Being a Civil War Buff myself, I really enjoyed this place! There was even a Lincoln Statue there. The artifacts are great and there are a few that are from the generals! I would recommened this to any person interested in the Civil War!

The Lincoln statue was beautiful, there was no one there, we had a nice walk around the grounds. There is a nice park across the street too with unique bridges.

Travel to the area to walk the Canal and Belle Island, which was very nice. The Civil War center was great. We didn't expect that.

An extremely informative centre. We loved the mix of short videos and reading material. This tour covers 3 floors and you could easily spend a few hours. Important for all ages visiting Richmond, gives a good insight into the civil war without prejudice to any side. We love how the museum interacts with the visitor asking your opinion. Well documented!

This museum is split into two parts. One free, run by theNational Park Service and the other private with an entry fee. The Park Service side was adequate and focused more on the manufacturing of munitions used during the civil war. The other side provided an objective view of the civil war from the union and the confederate perspective. The pay side was very enlightening and had information that was not included in modern day text books. A good way to spend the afternoon.
