Great selection of food for purchase. Nothing fancy, but something for everyone! Sometimes they offer music in the early evening after work.

“Not the Best”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

I've eaten at Best Café several times over the years, and I have also eaten at Amuse. We wanted to eat at Amuse before checking out the Hollywood Costumes exhibit, but did not anticipate the crowds. We decided to pick something up at Best Café and take it back to our place since there were no available tables. We chose a salad with grilled chicken and a Mediterranean plate from the To Go selection.. The hummus, tabbouleh, and babaghanoush were served with vegetables, pita crisps. and stuffed grapes leaves. It cost nine dollars and was worth the money because the portions were generous and homemade. At least they tasted homemade with perhaps the exception of the stuffed grape leaves. However, the salad was ten dollars, and it consisted of almost nothing but a lot of lettuce.. It included a small portion of chicken, a few nuts, some fruit, toasted coconut, and a homemade dressing. The dressing came in a thimble sized container. This salad, while not terrible, was something you might pick up in a grocery store. For just a few dollars more, a nice meal can be had in the museum's restaurant, Amuse. That's where we'll be going from now on. I just have to remember that a reservation is the way to be assured that we will get a table..

Healthy choices. The salad was fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced. The desserts were yummy as well. Staff very friendly...come even when I don't have time to visit the museum.

“Great for a break”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

Really enjoyed the afternoon coffee and tea. Very relaxing and even better out on the deck if the weather is cooperating. Coffee refills are free and decaf is available. Try a scone or a muffin with your beverage, most are large enough to share.

“Convenient, airy place at the museum”

A great choice of food and seating with fine views, plus friendly staff make this a good choice for lunch or a snack during a visit to the VA Museum of Fine Arts.
