“Great subs for a good price”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

They have amazing Subs with actual Navy submarine names :)
They all taste great.
I tried the USS Virginia. Great taste.
One thing to remember is try the half sub as that itself is like a foot long.
I dunno if many would be able to finish the full Sub!

“Fabulous Breakfast!”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

I am so glad that a friend took us here, while we were visiting. It seems difficult to find a place that does an amazing job when it comes to breakfast, but The Black Sheep has nailed it. I was so delightfully pleased with the ginger snap crusted French toast and the Greek yogurt topped with coconut, pineapple, and caramelized nuts. Everything was so flavorful, and the flavor combinations perfectly balanced one another. A real treat for breakfast!

“A unique place and fantastic place for brunch!”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

My husband and I had a wonderful brunch at this unique spot. It's off the beaten track, but worth finding on a side street near the VCU campus. It is a mix of college students, locals and out-of-towners, and the different items they put together for their various dishes are unlike anything we've had before. Don't be afraid to try some of these unusual combinations - you won't be disappointed!!

“Great sandwich and soup!”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

The butternut squash soup was to die for. I also had the Jefferson sub and it was delicious! The food choices are not your normal but go together so well. Be sure to split the sandwiches...they are huge!

“fantastic use of spices”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

This place recommended to me from people I met hundreds of miles away was fantastic. This is not your everyday fare. This is a blending of different ingredients you would have never thought to put together into a fantastic soup or sandwich for your dining pleasure. They have sandwiches named after battleships that looked absolutely intimidating and delicious at the same time. The soup was the best I ever had and the service was efficient and friendly. If you are close by I highly recommend you try this place once and you will be a repeat customer.
