I have been here a few times now and each time the service was pretty crappy. It's like the staff is only concerned about giving good service to their friends who are hanging around the bar. The food was okay but over priced, although the red pepper grits were some of the best grits I have ever had!

Food was pretty good (shrimp artichoke dip was awesome!,) as were the beer selections. I'd eat there again. The only issue was an interesting odor that reminded me of a sour mop that had been used to clean the floor. That kept it from being a 4 and me giving it a 3.

It is small and cozy with a very impressive bar. One can chooses just about every whiskey/Bourbon there is. The food is excellent and because is a popular place, it is very busy.
I will go back there when I get to Richmond again.

I love this place! The bar in impressive when you walk in with the floor to ceiling bar. Once you can turn your eyes away from behind the bar there is a western theme throughout the rest of the restaurant. The owner, Mac, makes sure his staff is knowledgable about all the whiskey they offer, the cost on the menu varies to the extreme, and there is not a 'rail' liquor available. The food is above par for a bar menu and I highly suggest the fried green beans. They offer specials depending on the season; last time I tried a caramel apple warm whiskey cocktail. It tasted just like a caramel apple and was a perfect combo for the chilly weather. Totally worth checking out!

Horrible food, and the worst service imaginable. I've only been here twice (don't know what I was thinking giving this place a second chance) and each experience was unbelievably bad. You're better off anywhere within a 8,000 mi. radius of this place. It's only a matter of time until this place will be forced to sell it to a better person, and hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later because McComarck's easily has the potential to be a really cool spot.
