Was traveling the road with the family and driving late into the night. This is located just south of Richmond and is well lit and well maintained. We booked two rooms which were well maintained and clean. In the morning we ate the buffer breakfast which was fine and then were quickly back on the road which is less than a mile away (more like a few hundred yards)

This Hampton is like many others. Comfortable, clean and the staff is very friendly. They also have free wi-fi and breakfast which is nice because there isn't much of anything near by there! Its a little off the beaten path, and unfortunately doesn't have an onsite shop for food if you arrive late but they do have a microwave and mini-fridge which is nice if you are staying for a few days and have food you want to keep. Overall, a good place to go if you need a clean, comfortable and reasonably priced hotel.

Then this is the place, as soon as you walk in the door the staff greeted you with smiles and were very friendly. They paid attention to my needs. My room was clean and smelled fresh. The complimentary breakfast is great. The

We chose this hotel as a midway point between North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Initially, we had problems, most of which were NOT the fault of the hotel. We used our GPS to find the hotel, only to discover that the ramps northbound and southbound from I-95 to the hotel (which sits literally by the side of the road) were closed during late night hours. We got off the interstate at the next exit, but the hotel is situated in a very industrial area, so we ended up driving through VERY isolated roads late at night to find it. It might have been a plus to have a warning on the hotel's website about the closed ramps at night, although we learned while there, that the VA. DOT had only informed hotel management of their construction plans a couple of days earlier.

Once we finally made our way to the hotel after backtracking about 20 minutes, the clerk at the desk was very helpful and attempted to give us a room on the side of the hotel away from the road construction. Unfortunately, when we got to our room, we discovered that our door didn't lock. There was nothing in the maintenance records to suggest that anyone else had complained about this, and in the hotel's defense, they were working on it by 8:00 am the next morning. Meanwhile, the desk clerk moved us to the last room available on the non-construction side of the hotel. Unfortunately, it was a handicapped accessible room with a shower and no tub. As a bathtub gal, I asked to move to the construction side, so as to have a tub. We were moved immediately (and placed as far from the construction noise as possible), but unfortunately found ourselves in another room with a shower only. We were too tired to move again.

At that point, we walked next door to the Subway, which we do NOT recommend. Our "heated" sandwiches were cold. One worker commented that he had no idea where to find the avocado. This is IN NO WAY a reflection on the hotel. It's just a heads up for other travelers who stay there; eat elsewhere!

Meanwhile, while the pool was officially closed for the evening, the kind clerk at the desk told us that if we were quiet, we could use the pool for a bit. (Talk about going out of the way for customer service!) After the cold sandwiches, we were too tired, but we truly appreciated the offer.

Breakfast was typical Hampton, but that is typically GOOD! The breakfast worker was very nice and even passed out small boxes of Hampton mints to customers.

Overall, despite the rocky start that wasn't a reflection on the hotel in any way, we had a very good stay, and I'd recommend this for anyone looking for an overnight stopover on I-95.

Room Tip: Request a bathtub in advance if you like to have one.

Checked in on a Wednesday night during a time when the front desk was not busy. The dining area did seem somewhat busy due to a group meeting of some type. The area seemed fine during all other times. Check in and out were both smooth and simple. Found the room clean and organized through out the stay.

Everyone was kind, the room was clean and quite, and the overall experience was very good. I would consider staying in this hotel again. I was told the area was not the greatest of area's to be in however, I did not feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

It was very convenent and easy to get to also close to Richmond and very easy to get in and out of Richmond. My road trip from Hotel to Convention Center took me about 15 min. Convention Center parking lot was also convenent walking from 3rd floor parking right into Convention Center. I felt safe
