Nice quiet room in this charming centrally-located neighborhood hotel. Valet parking was not necessary; street parking was available. Friendly staff at the front desk. Good restaurants within walking distance. Coffee shops right there too. Pretty area to take a short walk.

This was a perfect stay for my 30th birthday. Even the standard rooms are very spacious, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms are big. Tamika, the GM, is always so accommodating and sweet. The restaurant food is always delicious.

Staff very friendly and courteous. The hotel is beautiful, close to restaurants and shops. We looked at business parks, which are outstanding. We found Boba tea which was delicious. Close to plantations, rich of history.

After a long day driving, we pulled up to the Berkeley to find smiles and friendly faces. From the valet to our first cocktail with Will, we had a relaxing friendly experience. We ate at the bar and had a great meal too...loved the room, it was like staying in someone's home...coffee in the room was perfect to get going in the morning

We stayed at The Berkeley for one night. It is quaint, charming and fits right in with the rest of the old town, cobblestone feeling of Cary Street in Shockoe Slip area. Our other options were the behemoth Omni or the impersonal Hampton Inn types. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome, Alfreda at the desk was friendly, gave us parking advice, she knew it was our anniversary from the booking and gave us a great room. She then had room service send us sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries! Very thoughtful. Unexpected and nice touch. In the hotel restaurant and bar, the bartender, didn't catch his name, was super nice, his computer was down and he gave me two beers to pay for later. Our room had a balcony, was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I have a tiny meh. Water pressure was horrible...... Other than that, bathroom was nice, towels were plentiful and fluffy. No issues. This is THE place to stay in Richmond. Will be back!

Room tip: Splurge for a balcony room. Just do it!! If not get street side.
