Stayed here overnight on the way to the outer banks. Very aged and dirty exterior in a shady part of the city. Rooms were very below average in cleanliness. Carpet was filthy. Stains and spots on chairs in room, ink blotches on bedding. A/C unit sounded like a plane taking off. Overall a very uncomfortable experience. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Spend a few more bucks and stay in a more reputable hotel in better part of town.
This dive shouldn't even be open. That was the last Days Inn I will ever stay in.
If you pull up and think "Oh...it can't be that bad"....believe me...it is. Drive away and find someplace else.
I chose this motel based on the good reviews I read beforehand, so I was disappointed when we arrived. It isn't in the best neighborhood, but in fairness it didn't feel "unsafe" either. It is an older motel and the room just felt dingy. It smelled smokey or musty. The bathroom door stuck so that you had to jerk it open/push it closed. The carpet felt almost damp under our feet. Plus, the phone in the room did not work, so we had to walk down to the lobby to request the username and password for the free wifi. I let them know that we needed the info for the wifi and that the phone was dead. They never acknowledged my comment - just asked how many devices we needed for wifi and handed us the info on paper - never even looking up at us. I did not experience the excellent customer service that others have posted about. But my main complaint is the room - it just felt dirty. I would recommend spending a few extra dollars and stay somewhere higher quality.
