We stayed here one night about four years ago. We liked it so much we came back for a two night stay. Even if you don't stay here stop to look at the amazing common spaces; the upper and lower lobbies. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Our room was of good size. There was a nice flat screen TV. The bathrooms were nice with great water pressure and lots of hot water. I love this place and hope to find a reason to return

I was in Richmond recently for a conference and this was our conference hotel -- it was a perfect choice. The building itself is amazing, the architecture and the restoration work on the details. Interestingly, they serve tea at 3 pm and there were women who were dressed for it. The bedroom I was in was spacious and the bed comfortable. I like the chocolates and the next day's weather forecast that the person turning down the bed does every evening. It's a great location, within walking distance to some good restaurants and definitely great service.

Love this hotel. Lobby and mezzanine are gorgeous! The double room we had was comfortable with 2 cozy chairs for enjoying a glass of wine before dinner. Nice large screen TV. Beds are wonderful with delicious duvets. Towels are lush. Very lovely, comfortable place to stay in Richmond. I messed up my reservations and booked for the wrong day but desk clerk was kind enough to find us a room and not charge any extra though we had not shown up the week prior.

The Jefferson is among the finest hotels in the country. Even in the otherwise sleepy town of Richmond, VA, they continue to provide world class comfort and service. The rooms are excellently appointed, the fitness and pool facilities are extensive, and the restaurant and bar area are very trendy. The staff are world-renowned for the level of service they provide. Be sure to take advantage of the complementary car service.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with an exterior view.

I stayed with my fiancee few weeks ago. The hotel lobby is beautiful and impressive. It looks like you are entering a place from last century. But all these majestic experience does not make up for the lack of service and the lack of interest in customers' need. From the start, it took us 1 hour to get a reservation finalized over the phone: different staff kept sending us to different people to take the reservation . I should have done online but I was also calling to enquiry about renting one of the rooms for our rehearsal dinner and blocking some rooms for our guests. The weekend we stayed there was fine, nothing outstanding, but we find it hard to engage staff to talk about events, as all of them kept saying that we had to call over the week (which is what we did a week before and they told us that when I was staying there on the weekend we could get more details). So during the week, I called again to enquiry about room blocking and renting dinning rooms and got (two days after the call) a cold response from the events manager, basically saying that they have another wedding on our weekend and so can't block any room. That will have been fine if they had told us since the beginning. Also, my fiancee in another instance spoke to the cater manager and he said that he will come back with prices, etc.. He never called back. The Lemaire restaurant took me one week to come back with reserving one of their rooms. The Jefferson can get away with this total lack of customer service because they pretty much don't have competition in the area. It is sad that such a beautiful hotel doesn't understand the basics of servicing customers.
