As always, staff were very accommodating and friendly. Looked forward to returning to the hotel after a long day, as the rooms are so incredibly comfortable and the staff so welcoming. Not only the concierge, but all the staff are a great resource for recommendations in respect of where to visit and where to eat.
Highly recommend this hotel...this was not our first visit and will not be our last.

This was a welcome southern retreat in the heart of Richmond. The restaurant and bar area were fabulous. The food was unbelievably awesome. The doormen, concierge and front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. Car transportation was provided which was most appreciated. We used the voucher that included breakfast so it was a very good value. Would love to think of more reasons to travel to this hotel in the future. There was nothing I did not like about this hotel.

Thank you for your review. We regularly offer packages that include tickets to the blockbuster exhibits at the Virginia Musuem of Fine Arts and that may just be your next great reason to visit Richmond. Please check back on our website later this summer for all the details. It promises to be a fun package!

My husband and I travelled to Richmond for a romantic birthday celebration. Even before our arrival, I was so pleased with our reservationist who was incredible at helping me plan the perfect weekend away from afar in a town I did not know. From our arrival, the doormen were friendly and helpful. Check in was smooth and our room fabulous. I did book a delux room. For the two of us it was perfect. A sitting area and bedroom with a full bath, tub and shower. Water pressure was OK. All I had planned was available in the room. Music playing and everything! The staff was attentive and professional. We have stayed in many historic properties and the condition of everything was perfect, even the baseboards were sparkling clean! No great view, but we had the curtains drawn for a reason! We loved the shuttle service from the hotel and the drivers were knowledgable local guides. We also had afternoon tea. What a treat! Our only disappontment was dinner at Lemaire. The food was very good. The service not so good. Dishes sat way too long on the table. Great pictures in a beautiful property. We look forward to a return trip, but will likely dine outside the hotel next time.

Thank you for choosing The Jefferson for your romantic getaway! We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We do regret, however, that you found the service in Lemaire to be lacking. Please know that your comments have been shared with the Lemaire team so that they can continue to hone their timing of service. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to welcome you back to The Jefferson soon.

We stayed at the Jefferson for a long weekend. The public spaces are beautiful and worth seeing. That said, our room was was tiny for three people. There was no desk and only one small chair in addition to the beds. We should have asked for another room but we were in a hurry. I understand there are many different configurations of rooms. So if you stay there don't be afraid to request another room. The beds were very comfortable and the decor was attractive. We also had no maid service one day. We came back to our room around 4:30 and it wasn't cleaned. We found a housekeeper in the hall and got towels so we could shower before going out for the evening. This wasn't expected in a such an expensive hotel. The hotel was very busy, so perhaps they were short of staff. I don't think we will stay there again.

We appreciate your feedback on your recent stay. We apologize that the size of your room did not meet with your expectations and so wish that time had allowed you to request an alternate room. Our Front Desk staff sincerely wishes to find the perfect room for each of our guests and is happy to provide alternatives whenever possible so your tip to future visitors was a good one.
The lack of service to your guest room by 4:30pm is also disappointing to hear and we are sorry for any inconvenience that this caused. As you noted, this is not the standard for our hotel and we make every effort to service rooms by 3:00pm. We will most certainly investigate so that we can continue to work to insure that our standard is met with complete consistency.
Thank you again for making us aware of our short comings. We hope that you will again consider The Jefferson when visiting Richmond.

We stayed here during a visit to Richmond several years back. I was a groomsman and the Jefferson held the reception after the wedding. The hotel had just gone under major renovations. This hotel has old south charm with new amenities that make it one of the prime hotels in all of Virginia. If you can afford the rate, its worth the stay. Its close walking distance to shopping, food and the river.

My friend and I just returned from an overnight at The Jefferson Hotel and is was perfect. We had signed up for a winter package of an overnight, valet parking and included a full breakfast. As we drove in the valet staff immediately greeted us, unloaded the car and walked us to the reception desk. Check in was smooth, informative and friendly. We were then taken to our room by a nice informative young man who explained in detail the various services offered by the hotel. Although we were not there long enough to take advantage of the free shuttle service it will entice us back for another visit. Our room, though small, was comfortable and well appointed. We had a drinks and appetizer in Lemaire Restaurant at a nice patio room overlooking the road. We returned later for dinner which was also perfect (this review I will do under restaurants). In the morning our breakfast at TJ's was also a delightful dining experience. The Jefferson exudes class and graciousness and everything about this visit was five star. Yes, you pay a bit more but it's worth it. We look forward to returning as soon as possible.

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher than the 2nd floor to get a nice city view.
