Do not miss the murals at the power plant. This is a gem that too many locals miss. It is a real treat to be on the Riva'. The James is wild and gentle; rocky and smooth bottomed. It just depends on what you want and you can find it mandering along the James.

We walked across the bridge to Brown's Island, and across another bridge to get a great view of the James River. If there were benches up there, I could've sat there all day! :-)

My husband and I came out here and walked along the trail and then had fun playing on the rocks. It was beautiful and there were a lot of friendly people hanging out. This place was awesome!

A world class treasure of the Richmond area. Miles and miles of hiking along the James River on both sides. Great for biking and walking the dog. You can hike to various islands and cross from one side of the river to another with no problems whatsoever. Lots of wildlife, and if you have a kayak you will find class four rapids here as well.

You'll be amazed at all the things there are to do and see on the James River. I've mainly spent my time along Tredegar Street and after several trips I have yet to see and do all there is. While you are there, take a hike over to Belle Isle and visit the Tredegar Iron Works. Don't forget to bring your camera and pack a picnic.
