“Eclectic Side of Richmond.”
Reviewed May 27, 2012

Carytown is a gem - Starting at Nansemond and ending at Boulevard, Cary Street becomes a fashionable, boutique lovers' paradise. The restaurants range from take-out to upscale. Do not miss Plan 9 records (going out of business soon?) and Mongrel (fun novelties, great gifts and hilarious greeting cards).

“Different shops and restaurants”
Reviewed May 26, 2012

If you want to get away from the mall, this is the area for you! Lots of unique shops and some great restaurants. The place to be in Richmond for New Years.

“Nice, interesting non-chain shopping area”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

Great walking, urban shopping area on the south of the Museum District. Lots of excellent restaurants. A must for visitors, unless they are looking for the same sort of bland Banana Repulic/Gap shopping experience found in every suburb of the country.

“Nice”
Reviewed May 18, 2012

I enjoy walking around while in Carytown. There are so many different shops to eat at and shop at. Some very different and unique places that you won't find in a mall.

“Nothing to Peak Your Interest”
Reviewed May 17, 2012

Nice street, nothing overly interesting. Lots of empty shops, a few interesting shops, bland shops, vintage shops, consignments shops, thrift shops, etc.

There are a few nice shops. Mostly it seemed like a lower end college street.

Safe, clean, L O N G.

No reason to return.
