Always a great exhibit to go with the regular exhibits. Very interesting gift shop. Worth a stop when you are visiting VA Museum of Fine Arts

Being from NJ, we wanted to learn more about VA history and this was the place to do it. Great exhibits with lots of information about various aspects of VA history. There is currently an exhibit about the White House photographers from the last 50 years from Kenney to Obama. The photos are outstanding. The video is long, so don't think it will be over in a few minutes..it's about an hour! The VA part was broken down into many categories from business and trade to the Civil War to Civil Rights, etc. Allow about 3 hours. The front is not the front...the entrance is around back! Nice giftshop!

Love all the Virginia history. Great place to visit for families as they have a number of hands-on activities for children especially the "discovering history" lab.

We hadn't intended to go here, but were glad we did. The staff were wonderful, the treasures many and well-displayed, & you can watch the restoration of the famous mural of the seasons of the Civil War.

Great museum - lots to learn - something for everyone. Plan to spend at least an hour and a half - it's very detailed and extensive.
