We went to the Ginter Gardens to see the Festival of Lights. Apparently this is an annual undertaking for the gardens. Everyone working at the gardens was extremely friendly and helpful. The light displays throughout the park were absolutely stunning. The garden also had a shop set up selling sparkling LED bracelets, necklaces, ornaments etc. The prices were very reasonable for items being sold at an event such as this. Close to the shop was a coffee stand selling lattes and hot chocolate. Thy the pumpkin spiced latte if you have the chance. There was a maze for the kids made up of lights as well. The greenhouse building was open, with botanical themed decorations inside. The library building was open, and there was a model train exhibit inside. Along the display were several buttons that the children could push to control certain components of the display. It is indescribable how beautiful the lights were as they reflected across the water at the gardens. I come for the New York area and the Bronx Zoo and Jones Beach used to attempt to similar displays (no longer done), but on their best days they could never compare to this display at the gardens. Dress warm as you will be outdoors, but there are ample heated bathrooms along the paths. KUDOS to the folks that put this together.

I love visiting the Gardens. There is always something in bloom and something different. Getting ready for the Festival of Lights for the Christmas season

It is a great place to go in late fall and early spring, especially when there are flowers blooming. A little expensive to get in, but totally worth it. The people who work there do a great job at maintaining the grounds and it is an exceptional place to just go and explore.

There is so much to see and frequently there is entertainment. Just look at the schedule on line. They also have nights when you can take your dog! Lots of children's exhibits!
