This casa really is a sparkly gem, stunning location with two balconies overlooking the harbour where fishermen land and sell their catches to locals twice a day, and where marriage parties came to pose for wedding photos; to the front a sleepy medieval piazza with a Norman Castello and church with a Black Maddona. The house is very well presented, clean, spacious and with all conveniences, wifi, and beautifully quiet air con. Castellammare was not overrun by tourists so neighbours, traders and local people were really happy to chat with us. There are many stores, restaurants and bars in walking distance. Marco met us and lead us to the property where there were delightful Sicilian treats waiting for us, a truly magnificent pancetta made by his mother, along with her homemade biscuits, limoncello and fruits: delicious but too much for us to eat in a week! Marco is a thoughtful host and also provided the basics like milk wine water and pasta, that you need after a long journey. (Pity more rental owners arent so generous!) We hired a car which we parked right out side the front door (beware though, you need to negotiate very narrow streets, crazy parking and the famous Italian driving). The casa exceeded our expectations and the warmth of the welcome we received made it a lovely holiday experience.

This is such an amazing place. From the moment we arrived Marco met us, even helped us figure out the gas station to get some fuel in our rental car. We followed him to the home - it was even more beautiful than the pictures he has posted. Marco had fresh long stem roses in a vase, so much amazing food - from fruit to snacks to ingredients you could use to cook a few meals! His mom made us two amazing homemade treats which after 20 hours of travel to get here was so appreciated and enjoyed immediately! This is a real Italian experience - you are in a small piazza where you see what daily life here is like. Each morning we enjoy watching the fishing boats come in and the locals lining up to buy the fresh catch then they do It all over again in the afternoon. We enjoy strolling through the small town - buying from the small local markets - they have all treated us so nice even though we are from the US and our Italian is very limited. Marco is very helpful with suggestions on where to go and always seeing what else he can do for us. He definitely makes a perfect place even more perfect - you are treated like a part of the family when you stay here.
We have one week left here and it was a perfect decision to be
based here.
