Unfortunately most of the reserve was closed when we visited due to fire risk. We could walk as far as the nearest beach, which was a pleasant little walk, and had a beautiful swim surrounded by fish at a beach with no umbrellas!

Sadly, there was a huge fire in July that has affected most of the Reserve. A small part is open, with 2 visitor centres (which were well laid out and interesting) and a delightful small swimming bay. Apart from a 1km. walk this is all there is. We were in Scopello to hike this park and although it was not fully open due to recent fires/threat/dry conditions we had an amazing time. Hiked into one of the small beaches and spent the day swimming with the fish! The views and trails are excellent. It is a must see attraction if you are anywhere near Scopello.

We went to hike today but the hiking path was closed due to fires.my score was for the beautiful ocean view the half mile or so g
From parking to the entrance. Many plants and palm like small trees were scorched but were already sprouting some green from the tops. Wonderful location near the San Vito beach town where we had a great sea food lunch. No fee for over 65.
Visit from two hours to 4 if walking thru the whole park or for the day if swimming.

Bring good shoes, snorkel, sandwiches and lots of water as the area is pure nature. Beautiful walks and breathtaking under water world.
