It was a great deal! The location was awesome & breakfast was like no other!!! Seriously, breakfast for champions! There was not a thing you couldn`t choose, it was everything I could ever wish for. :)
We`ve slept very good, rooms were big, it was like whole flat, equipped with everything (kitchen, fridge, bathroom, tv, balcony, wifi...). Although the internet said the man doesn`t have any free space, we tried and went asking. It`s like he owns the streets, he has many many apartments!
Overall, above-average B&B & great value!

location is great, overlooking the harbor, the room was very clean and nice . breakfast is OK. good VFM, only thing that harmed my stay was the fact that the staff wasn't so friendly, some of them didn't speak English and had trouble to communicate, the one who did speak a bit English gave me a grumpy face when asked about recommended restaurants, attractions etc..

Room Tip: ask for a harbor view

Il Porto Vecchio was a good deal. They set us up in a two bedroom apartment with our own terrace. Nothing spectacular, but more than adequate. Breakfast carried the same theme.

Unfortunately it's located in Stintino, which hasn't been a quaint fishing village for quite some time and is now a dull, rather charmless tourist trap which overlooks a large oil refinery. It's main attraction these days is La Pelosa beach a few kilometres up the road, which is probably rather beautiful when it isn't packed solid with bodies and beach umbrellas.

We stayed here recently for one night on our way round northern Sardinia. It was by far my favourite B&B in Sardinia - we had a lovely, spacious room with a view over the harbour. The room was en-suite and was more like a hotel than some of the other B&Bs we stayed in. The owners are very friendly and helpful and helped us with bus times and maps to get up to La Pelosa. The B&B is ideally located right next to the main bus stop in Stintino and there is also a small supermarket next door. The breakfast was also fantastic - a full continental style buffet breakfast served on a sunny terrace. Considering the prices I think this is a fantastic, charming place and would strongly recommend it to people looking to visit La Pelosa and the nearby coastlines.

we are travelling to Stintino for mor than 30 years now and know many hotels and apartments. It is a great place to stay right in the center of the small fisher village. Price Quality is good. Very clean, nice rooms and good breakfast.... I would always go again. Pleople who travel to Sardinia should know the culture and mentality and adapt!

We spent 6 nights at the B&B Il Porto Vecchio as a refuge from our crowded apartment in Capo Falcone. This is just to explain that we are quite familiar with Stintino and its surroundings but we have never stayed “downtown”. The fact is that Stintino is a small village and it can get very crowded during the peak season. By just avoiding the 2 busiest weeks of the year you can enjoy a relaxing fishermen village atmosphere and the Porto Vecchio is the perfect place to stay. It is easy to park in the nearby market square or close to the town hall. All the shops, bars and restaurants are at hand so if you are thinking of staying out all night it is not a long walk back home! Just taking an evening walk along the sea front is pure bliss.
Public transport to Alghero airport or the best beaches is a few steps away.

We stayed in a corner double room facing the old port nestled in a part of the building which was completely renovated 3 years ago. The room has a high wooden ceiling and it is furnished tastefully with Sardinian artefacts in a peach colour. We were just a couple but there is enough room for a third single bed. The private bathroom is functional and equipped with shower, hair-dryer and plenty of hot water. The room is cleaned daily, bed linen and towels are changed regularly.

The windows have double glazing ensuring good soundproofing and the brand new air-con system is very efficient. At the Porto Vecchio we took advantage of their free wi-fi internet connection.
Breakfast is served every morning between 8:00 and 10:00 in the terrace overlooking the port. The rich buffet offers a selection of sweet and savoury food, including fresh croissants and daily homemade cakes.
We have enjoyed our stay at the Porto Vecchio and we would recommend it without hesitation.

Room Tip: The corner room has a very nice view on the port

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
IL PORTO VECCHIO was the first structure to clear the way for hospitality with the B&B option in Stintino and it represents today the most comfortable and one of the less costly solutions for a stay in this village, which preserves the atmospheres of the ancient tuna and lobster fishing tradition. In our B&B you can still breathe that traditional hospitality air that the fishermen's families offered holidaymakers in old times; in fact, you can find a familiar and serene environment joined to our professionalism that has been our hallmark for years. It is situated in the centre of the tourist town of Stintino just a stone throw away from all the main services (bank, post, newsagent's, tobacconist's, public places) and at a short distance from the embarkation point for excursions to the Isola Parco Nazionale dell' Asinara. A bus stop for the beaches of La Pelosa and Le Saline, in Sassari, Porto Torres and for the airport of Alghero is at a few metres away. It is very easy to find a spot in the public parking nearby or even in front of the entrance. Contact us for info and bookings... we are always available for any need. The facility is furnished with antique furniture manufactured locally and with accessories and complements from the local craft sector (cane lobsterpots and baskets), with a touch of Sardinia-style carpets, bedspreads, curtains, tablecloths and place mats. Mrs Santa, the owner, prepares the breakfast buffet on the first floor that the guests can eat sitting alfresco on the terrace if they wish. A fridge and washing machine are also available for the guests (these are not inside the room). THE ROOMS ARE SERVED BY AN INDEPENDENT ENTRANCE. After receiving the keys the guests are free to come in or out of the rooms whenever they wish in absolute autonomy. ... more   less
