We stayed here for 3 nights in September 2011. I think the hotel is fairly new, as everything looks pristine and is very well maintained. The swimming pool was meticulously cleaned every morning while we were there, although was also FREEZING cold!! Very refreshing on a hot day though.

The rooms are well-decorated and furnished, as well as being fairly spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable, the en-suite was nice (shower only), and the balcony, whilst offering no privacy, did give a nice view over the garden and pool (although it should be noted that some rooms don't face in this direction).

The staff were always very friendly and helpful, from the receptionist who greeted us upon arrival, to the cleaners, and the team who run the breakfast buffet - always very smiley, which makes such a difference to your experience!

The breakfast buffet was served in a nice area overlooking the pool, with a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. The buffet was plentiful, and although we only ever saw a cold selection, this suited us in this climate! Nice breads, pastries, cereals, jams, cakes, fresh fruits, yoghurts etc.

Really the only slight negatives we could identify for this place are:
1) the distance to town (a 10 minute walk, uphill on the way back) and the Rena Bianca beach (slightly further with another hill!) but to be honest I was grateful for this means of working off some of the pizza calories!
2) the rooms aren't entirely sound proof, so we were awoken once or twice by other guests in the corridor outside.

But if you're capable of walking up a hill, and sleep reasonably well, please don't let these things put you off! We really liked this place and enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Request a room with a balcony / terrace overlooking the pool - on the ground floor, this will give y...

Stayed for one night in september 2011. The hotel is farther away from city than the 5 min advertised, more like 10 min walk. Also, the hotel is located at the end of long road with a significant incline.

The hotel is very nice with pool and yacuzy and a small garden. Wifi is only available in the lounge area, but atleast the rooms have a fridge and aircon.

Service is excellent demonstrated by the staff when we asked them to call a taxi as we were running late for a bus departure. One of the staff then drove us down (a 20 min walk) with her own personal car!

A very well maintained hotel in a quiet location. There is a 15 min walk to the centre of St:a Teresa. A lovely pool area. Ask for a room facing the pool! Nice room with excellent air con. Breakfast was very good. I can definetly recommend this hotel.

We spent 4 nights here during our stay in Sardinia. We were advised when booking about construction work on the site behind the pool and recommended a room overlooking the road - we were pleased to find our room (227) comfortably sized with a large balcony and the traffic from the road neglible. The staff were all very friendly and helpful (my husband is Italian so perhaps this helped?). On our last day we didn't need to leave for the airport until 4pm and they kindly let us keep our room until then and we spent the day by the pool which was lovely, quiet and relaxing. There are plenty of beautiful beaches nearby and the staff are happy to suggest which beach is better depending on the wind that day. The hotel offers you discounts at a couple of local restaurants, but we were also advised to try Agriturismo La Tegghia a few miles away near Rena Majore - this is a must do - the views were beautiful and the food delicious - fixed price (70 Euros for 2 people) and a set menu - do not eat all day before you go! The hotel also has a garage which is free and keeps the car cool.

The design of the hotel is very beautiful. The size of the room and bathroom, the area around the swimmingpool, everything was very nice. Good level of service, breakfast was good as well. Hotel staff was friendly and nice.

Minus:
Too much the noises of the other rooms. Space in shower is too small. Next to the hotel is construction of new hotel, workers start to generate noise at 8am. The hotel is situated not close to the center and beach. I would recommend to have a car.

A lovely modern hotel. Good swimming pool. The rooms are exceptionally clean and tidy and we had one with a balcony overlooking the pool - recommend that you ask for one of these. The town is a 10 minute walk away with a good variety of restaurants, tourist shops and a lovely white sandy beach. Other excellent beaches within a 10 minute drive. The hotel breakfast is up to usual Italian standards. We ate at the hotel only once - it was not exciting - but did find some very good restaurants in the town - namely Azzurro and Da Thomas. Recommend a trip on the boat to Corsica - which only takes an hour from the harbour. The staff's command of English is not good - but neither is our Italian, but we all managed to get by! Unfortunately there is a building plot adjacent to the hotel which rather spoils the view and who knows how it may develop, but for us it didn't distract from our stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Diana in September 2008. We found the hotel in a small section of one of the London free papers on where to go, stay and eat. It rated Diana Hotel as 4*. We booked direct through the hotel and the price was very reasonable. We also opted for half board.

The hotel is approximately 1.5 hour drive from Olbia airport and we hired a car. The hotel is situated in Santa Teresa di Gallura which is a small quite town. On arrival the hotel looked decent and our check in was smooth. Our bedroom was basic but clean. A wardrobe, dresser with Sky TV, mini bar and bed. The bathroom had a small shower in too. Unfortunately the dresser only had 3 small drawers so almost everything had to be put in the wardrobe. There was also a safe and at no extra fee.
The balcony was a good size and we overlooked the pool. Unfortunately there was a building site not only behind the hotel but next to it so this did spoil the view. Also during the day the digger was on so there was a low hum. Ideally the hotel should of forewarned us about this but this is possibly why the price was so low for Sardinia.
Other bad points were that the walls were thin so we could hear our neighbours quite a lot and also our room was above the dining room and from 7am we were woken by chairs scrapping the floors. This seems to be a common complaint on hotel reviews and why they can’t put felt under the chairs is beyond me.

Breakfast is continental but not very great though. Croissants, bread, ham, cheese, cereal and juice. What we did find very annoying was that at breakfast you were shown the menu for the evening meal and had to decide by 12pm whether you were having it or not. The menu consisted of 2 choices of first and second course. We only had dinner one night which was OK but decided we preferred going to the restaurants in town.
However, when we checked out, the hotel only charged us for the one meal we had so we were very pleased with that.
I should also point out that eating out was expensive. A meal for 4 which a few drinks one night cost 180e. The seafood was lovely but being a little naïve we thought there’d also be a large choice of pasta but there was in fact very little. Pizza is everywhere though and you’re sick of it by the time you get home!

The town itself was fairly quite but we believe we went slightly out of season (14-21st). There are 2 beaches, one about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, Rena Bianco, and another a short drive away, Capo Testa. These were both beautiful. Rena Bianco has a wonderful view of Corsica and soft golden sand. Another beach on the way to Capo Testa has lots of rocks and it was great to explore the area. Very windy though!
Weather wise, we had about 3.5 days of beautiful sun and the rest of the week was raining or overcast.

We went to Baia Sardinia one day which is in Costa Smeralda and this was much more of a resort with many tourists in. We did look at 2 hotels in that area though and both were awful compared to Diana Hotel.

Overall, we believe the price we paid reflected the hotel quality. If we were to return to Sardinia I would prefer to stay in a more touristy resort as the town seemed to be a favourite for locals and not everyone we encountered was eager to embrace us.
However, what we did see of Sardinia was beautiful and if we had the money we’d love to stay in one of the top hotels there.
