With 105 € a night you get your own bungalow which is simple but comfortable, access to the pool which we had to ourselves everytime we took a swim, a nice but little to sweet breakfast and a discount at the restaurant. The hosts are good at speaking english and They give you tips on what to see around the area. Make sure you let them book a day trip on "palau north light", which is a small boat that tours around the la maddalena archipelago. The trip was truly exceptional!! It cost us 70 € per person, lunch included. If you visit northern sardinia, this is the place to be!

We had a very relaxing stay at Saltara. As others have mentioned Natalia and Gian Mario were very welcoming and went beyond the call of duty to assist us. Their advice and directions for local attractions was extremely useful. The highlight of our stay was the restaurant, whether the suckling pig or the bread cooked in the wood fired ovens or the sumptuous dishes from the kitchen it was delicious and plentiful.

One of the nicest place we were in Sardinia.
Gian Mario and Natalia gave us a very warm welcome and could make us feel at home within this sumptuous agriturismo. Their fruitful advices helped us to explore most of the area and fully enjoy our stay in Northern Sardinia.
Bungalows are set under mediterranean trees and offer a truly relaxing atmosphere inviting you to meditate or simply relax. Enormous and genuinely prepared breakfast is served either indoor or closed to the pool. Natalia brings all her attention to details and will make sure you'll start the day with a kick of positive energy.
We can definitely recommend Saltara and wish to get back sooner or later.

Natalia and Gian Mario were wonderful hosts. We've stayed at other farms (poderes in Tuscany etc) where the hosts seemed to be feigning hospitality but at Saltara it feels genuine.

Natalia's recommendations were helpful and spot on.

The bungalows are basic and charming. Ours had an unexpected perk of a shower with extra heads and an in built radio. The air con worked a charm and it was nice to relax at the end of the day with satellite cable. I particularly liked the local toiletries, which are nicely scented with myrtle.

The food was knock-your-socks-off, and we couldn't resist having dinner each night and trying a different menu. (And the all-inclusive price for dinner was a steal)

Staff were smiling and sweet, and any difficulties in communications (owing to our poor Italian) was more than compensated by the attitude.

Will definitely be returning!

We stayed here last month as part of our honeymoon on Sardinia. Wanted to see a more authentic part of the island after a luxourious stay at Hotel Cervo in stunning Porto Cervo. We booked directly on the Saltara website & had many friendly mails from Natalia before we arrived. The location is an ideal base, but you really need a car as its pretty remote to find at first. Actually its only 2km to a small sandy quiet beach & ideal for exploring the north coast, inc ferry to Corsica which we adored.. Rooms are a little private wooden chalet with garden, very clean & comfortable with bathroom which has power shower & hairdryer etc. The food is magnificent, and we booked half-board to enjoy lots of local dished..Much better value as eating out generally was expensive. The menu was different every night & Natalia always reminded us we could also give her any special requests..We enjoyed lots of fish & meat dishes, antipasti & great desserts. Breakfast was simple but delicious fruit, homemade pastires & bread, freshly squeezed fruit juices, ham & cheese..The restaurant was full every night, even out of peak season with locals & tourists enjoying the food, local wines made on the farm, outside ovens & genuinely friendly hospitality. We were sorry to leave Natalia & Gianmarco, and their team who made our honeymoon so amazing! Am sure we will return & have recommended it to friends back home in Scotland. Ideal for couples, friends & small families as there's even a small pool for guest use.

Room Tip: All 6 rooms are fab!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Saltara for 3 nights as part of our tour of the north of Sardinia. We'd previously been in San Pantaleo so the journey took us about an hour and a half - plus a little extra to find it! It's quite hidden though the old forest road and you wonder if you're ever going to get there!

Nice welcome from Natalia who let us settle in and then explained a bit about the area, where the beaches are, and what's to see locally. We really enjoyed living in the wooden huts and weren't too bothered by some of the bugs on the wall!

First and last night we ventured into Santa Teresa di Gallura for dinner and then ate at the Saltara on our 2nd night. Boy what a feed! Tremendous! Four courses I think it was and we both over indulged with the antipasti, it was hard not to. Then ravioli, then the suckling pig and rosemary potatoes, wow they were delicious. And the bread, oh the bread..! Then sebadas, the lovely Sardinian desert of pastry/cheese/honey - deeeelish. Then mirto to finish! We were stuffed. Delicious.

A couple of other reviews have said the breakfast was slightly lacking and it was, very light in comparison with the dinner - but breads, cheese, hams and all very nice.

The log cabin was such fun and the walk up to it was lovely - I think you could go past her mother's house and across a wee bridge, very nice. The room was basic but bathroom was big and very clean. But, there were a huge amount of wasps this time of the year and they were very annoying.

Second night, pitch black... no noise, then lots of scraping noises across the roof!! That's it, we were both awake - what the **** was that?! We're in the middle of nowhere and we hear strange noises. So we both get up and go and investigate... it was a rat and was now sitting outside on the air conditioning unit outside the bathroom. And what was on the ground looking up? A very hungry black cat! And it succeeded in catching its prey...

Good points - Natalia spoke excellent English and was very welcoming. Her husband appeared very gruff but was really very nice. And we got free wine to take away with us!

Bad points - Too many wasps around the pool and in the breakfast area so we didn't loiter there too much.

Would definitely recommend - and so much so that my friend is going there in June for a few nights of her honeymoon!
